A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.
After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."
The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. The duck is dead," replied the vet.
"How can you be so sure?" she protested... "I mean you haven't done any testing on him…

DK members, Barbara, Lee and Lexi Seidman & I drove last Monday to a kill shelter in Naples, Florida to pick up their first foster for the DRC. Zeke is a 3 year old, 85 lb, aprioct and blond F1 LD. He is the most sweet, loving, quiet, polite, ball obsessed, well trained boy. He comes when called - even in the park! He sits when asked & walks beautifully on the leash. Zeke is not the typical 'silly' Doodle like my Charli, but he is more serious like my Samantha. They actually look…

Since there was none at that time, figures doesn't it, you need to close your eyes to picture this.
Samantha, Charli and I went to dinner at Barbara, Lee and Lexi's house to see their foster, Zeke, and to have dinner. The 4 doodles had a wonderful time playing chase around the pool, playing ball and being doodles.
After dinner, we are sitting outside on a lovely Southern Florida evening. Lee is throwing the ball and all 4 are chasing…

I know that a lot of you read the updates on Doodles that are in foster homes - from Joanne, Krista, Lucy & Sophies Mom, Nina and others.
There are just too many doodles in kill shelters that could be saved if they had a temporary home to go to. You have to understand that they may have forgotten their potty manners, if they ever had them; they may be scared due to being in so many different places to live in such a short time; may be so under weight that they need fattening…

We need someone to help the DRC pull 2 doodles from a shelter in Oklahoma City and then meet Kim in Pauls Valley - app 1 hour South of OC down I35.
Kim Konradi, Texas DRC Regional is driving up from Dallas to pull another doodle from a shelter in Pauls Valley and then has to drive back to Dallas so if you can help you would be saving her several hours of driving.
If you can help, please let me know asap!
Thanks,
Adrianne

Today my girl turns 2!
Dear Samantha,
I am so thankful for the day we found each other. Your sister, Marissa, and I were on our way from Home Depot to Costco when we decided to 'just look' in the pet store. There I saw a magnificent chocolate bundle of puppy. Then you opened those magnificent eyes…

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning pet owners not to feed their dogs Merrick Beef Filet Squares after routine tests detected salmonella in the treats.
Tests conducted in December first showed evidence of salmonella in the dog treats produced by Merrick Pet Care. Follow-up inspections found problems with both the manufacture and packaging of the snacks, the FDA reports. Yesterday, the agency issued a warning recommending dog owners steer clear of the Beef Filet…

Since the winter freeze has hit, what do you use to keep the walkway free from ice but safe for the doodles - both their feet and if they lick it off their feet?
Has any heard of Magic Ice?

I took the girls to the dog park this morning before work and again on the way home. Charli had such a fantastic time playing with other dogs. Unfortunately, this is how she came home - covered in mud! As soon as we walked in he door, she got brushed thoroughly and then the both hit the shower!! Not a happy little doodle.…

Okay Doodle Experts!
Is there a corralation between tail length and height? Charli's tail always seemed to be extra long for her height - she is 22 1/4" tall, her tail is 14" long, she weighs app 38 lbs and is only 6 months old. Anyone have a clue how tall she might be?
I really would like to know if anyone's Doodle had a 14" long tail and how tall did they grow?

when 3 doodles can spend their day changing the design of Mom and Dad's comforter? My response to my Mother when she said 'And this is okay by you?' was 'YUP! They had so much fun doing it! All it needs is to be thrown into the washing machine and I have a lifetime of memories'!!

THANK YOU to all my DK family who offered to help Gibson! Seems that the shelter has gotten a lot of people offering to adopt him. We hope and pray that he goes to a family that truly understands all it entails to have a Doodle as part of their family. The daily grooming, the expensive but necessary trips to the groomer, the constant and consistent training, the socialization, exercise - lots to take on if you dont understand a Doodle. Our paws are crossed that whichever family adopts him, it…

Check out this Doodle. Gibson is in a High Kill Shelter in Ohio. Due to the lack of space, if he is not adopted by October 25th he will be euthanized. Not because he is vicious, it is just because there is a lack of space.
This is what the volunteers at The DRC do. We search the web looking for doodles who may be euthanzied and in need of forever homes. We…

Mickey was our first Foster. He was surrendered to Pike County Shelter from Almost Heaven Puppy Mill. He was 4 1/2 months old when I picked him up on July 2nd. He was 7 lbs underweight and so sick with mange, ear infection and kennel cough. This is Mickey when he came home and pictures from this weekend - 3 months later!! Talk about a make over - see what lots of love, food and a wonderful home can do for a Doodle? Makes you just want to cry.
