There is immense pleasure in the company of young children. I’ve found if you listen intently – they will amaze you every time.
This week I was “amazed” again by a “little person” from across the street named “Hailey”…
Hailey is 7 years old, and has a rather “hefty” vocabulary for her age. Articulate and extremely polite, she is a doll-baby to talk…

Today's a good day for Oscar, so proud of him! He slept through the night, and puts up less to no fuss when going in his crate :). He also let me know this am that he needed to go out, sat very politely by the door and waited. He also didn't care about the vacuum this am, just sat by my feet. He's so precious :)

Last week I went to Indiana and Hayley went with me. I honestly don’t think most people “get” my connection with my DK family. I tell them all the time if I traveled around the USA, I would probably know somebody in every state, including Hawaii (thanks, Bonnie). How many people get to say that statement? Oh, and…

I have been in Indiana this week two timing Fudge and Vern with a dog named Marshmallow. I was staying at my sister’s house and she was watching her daughter’s dog. Marshmallow has grown into a wonderful and mellow dog and I know that for a fact because I have known him since he was young. Mar,…

It’s no secret that Leo is what one would call a “mission oriented” Doodle!
From the time he raises his head in the morning – till the time it hits the floor from exhaustion at night, he is one busy little dood…
Doesn’t matter where we go, he will grab “Wilson” and follow me EVERYWHERE……

Today is my first birthday! Its been fun growing up thus far, and my mom said that today, for my birthday, I will get special presents and treats. She wasn't even very grumpy when I woke her up early, eager to begin my special day.

It's been 3 months since I said good bye to my Gus . He is still missed so very much and while I cherrish the great memories, sometimes they make me so sad. Today was major cleaning day which meant moving almost every piece of furniture in the living room to vacuum, dust, wipe, and re-arrainge. All his life, when even the smallest thing was moved, Gus would always be right there under my feet and in the way of the vacuum sniffing out anything interesting (usually popcorn) that may have…

My son-in-law went fishing this week and he ran into a school of bluefin tuna. Our daughter shot this with her cell phone - that's the reason for the poor quality image.
The biggest fish was a bit over 40 pounds and the smallest were still pretty big. He gave us several freezer bags of fillets and one big bag of scraps for the Crowe dogs.
We and the dogs are…

We got a call from a volunteer networker at 2:30 today that there was a one-year old Maltese female in the San Bernardino City Shelter who was going to be put down if she was not pulled from the shelter a 5:00 pm.
Judy called the shelter and found that there is no way they would delay the euthanasia even if we guaranteed that we would pick this girl up. It was 3:00 PM when I got on the road for the 75 mile (approximately) trip to the…

Our monthly assignment is to photograph strangers and I learned a lot in one day. For a long time I've been contemplating my next life stage if I retire completely. I now know that being a paparazza is not the career for me. We had debated in our group discussion if taking pictures of strangers was OK. The consensus was photos are OK in a public place but you can always ask.…

Ever since Monty came to our family, our vacation planning evolves around the dog. Now with Auggie in the mix, it's double important. I truly have not taken a time off from my dogs ever. I'm just not comfortable boarding the two....it's just too hot outside in summer and I know they both prefer staying inside most of the day in the heat. And then there is this little thing of me missing and worrying about them all the time.
So this summer we've decided to attend the annual Colorado…

There is a little bit of freedom living in a town where you don’t know many of the people. I don’t have to worry about getting all dolled up when I go out to run errands or walk my dogs. I am definitely not a slob, but have been known to walk my dogs up at the park without putting too much thought into my hair or outfit.…

Tomorrow (8/2) is a big day for me, Bailey, Lori, Daphne and Lucy... We are getting to meet the famous Rosco, Guinness and Honey doodle!
The 3 doodles and their human parents are stopping in Mayport Naval Base FL for a few days before heading home. So the Florida girls once again are meeting some of their DK friends...
We are all so excited and can't wait to share…

Pet parents are quite similar to Mom’s and Dad’s of two legged lil’ people. We love to share information, adore fawning over each other’s furbabies, and can “sniff” each other out of a crowd like nobodies business!
Early on in my pet blogging life, I met (thru social media) Lonnie – another “Doodle Mom.” For months we have communicated regularly about Harley, Leo, and her cutie pie “Libby Lu.”
“Collar me flattered” when we received…

A number of years ago I started a tradition of having a Christmas in July holiday dinner at our house. I love turkey dinner. I love the turkey and all of the wonderful side dishes that go with it and can’t figure out why we have it only twice a year. So that said, I purchase the most inexpensive meat there is – turkey – and off I go on a mission to serve up the works with all of the holiday spirit. This year I was…
