Hi, every time Skylar sees another dog she wags her tail and barks / growls. the vet says she didn't get socialization as a young pup. You may recall she is a rescue dog. Well Saturday we are going to a Doggy Play date. This should be interesting.  I am a bit apprehensive but am hoping it all goes well and we are not kicked out. Update to follow.

A few days ago Murphy came running into the house and he was mud halfway up his legs so I decided to give him a quick bath in the tub  because it was already dark outside and the Sandy hurricane came all the way here to Michigan and was causing rainy nasty weather problems ......so I put him in the tub turned on the water and the sand just poured out of his paws and he looked at me like "what the hell is going to happen now" so I had a bucket but he is just too big to wet down with a bucket…

I wanted to post a blog to check in....but more so to also encourage other DK members who live in the tri-state area to also check in after Hurricane Sandy.  We live in Sayreville, NJ  (I'm not sure why my profile says otherwise...have to change that)  which is very close to Raritan Bay/ River.  While we are so fortunate, others in my area are not.  We sustained no damage and obviously have power and heat back on.  As we are all getting power back and watching the news for the first time in…

Boris arrived home last Sunday and he is the sweetest little fellow.  I knew these potty training/crate training first few weeks were going to be a bit mad and I haven't been disappointed.  Potty training is going really well mainly due to mad dashes to the garden every hour and in the middle of the night in the freezing cold and rain where I put on my most enthusiastic voice and repeat 'get busy' until there is a result. Crate training is proving slightly harder as the first four nights…

It's been 24hours since Toffee's spaying operation & she can't / won't walk.

It's as though something is pulling and she takes two steps then puts her bum on the floor and licks her wound.

We thought it was some matted hair that was pulling around the stitches, but we've given her a good trim and still she won't get up off the floor.  I've put her food out of her reach meaning she has to get up but things don't seem to be improving.

We have to return to the vets tmrw…

Daisy has been quite the celebrity this week, well at least at our house. First the awesome page in the 2013 Lotsa Doodles calendar and now in print in the Doodle Days Comics by Patty Barry (PJ and Zach). We are so proud!

We took Toffee to the vets today to have her spayed.  (I do not know if you use the same term used in the US but bascially she's had her lady's bits out).

It's late here in rainy Hertfordshire and I'm babysitting a very dozy pup !!   She can't decide what she wants to do.  Walking seems impossible at the moment, but I just wish she would sleep properly.  I think she's worried we'll leave her.

In keeping with the celebration of Fantasy Fest this week in Key West... Riley was ready to go!

Meet our new family member Morgan Maye O'Doodle. She is a 6 mo. old GoldenDoodle we rescued through Golden Rescue South Florida. She is sweet and sassy and fitting in well with our retired Puppy Mill Mommy Brigit, her GoldenDoodle Boy Riley. We already love her soooooo much!

Hey everyone! Just got power back. It was a doozy. We were soooo lucky! My town is a mess but some how we personally escaped damage. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I am sure that is why I am so blessed.

About a month ago, Camilla (and Darwin) did a blog in the Photography Group and gave us instructions about how to take your own family photo.  Camilla is a fabulous photographer and I knew if I followed her instructions to a T, I was going to get a great picture for our Christmas cards.  Now, technically I was supposed to be taking our pictures, but as some of you may recall, I have a photographer daughter that can be bribed and threatened into helping.  So, I guess you can say I followed…

I travelled yesterday with a friend, her DH and daughter to collect the puppies. We were so excited on the way it felt like we were heading to the maternity hospital.  We were both worried that we would get the 'right' puppies as the breeder sounds a little tired at this stage...12 puppies in the house would stretch anyone!  We didn't have to worry. So the local (and huge) dog park opened, it's right behind the shelter I volunteer at. Well, today when I was at the shelter I noticed there was a bunch of doodles around! I had DH bring Darwin so he could play with them.

Today Stuart ran his first 8k race, 4.97 miles.  Stuart has been running with his dad because he is like the energizer bunny - we can't wear him out.  Out of 150 runners he was the only dog!  Of course everyone thought he was totally awesome and he got lots of cheering and attention.  He even went to the after run breakfast and has some eggs, bacon and sausage.…

I was SO excited when I found out that I won the Les Poochs brush in the Pet Flow contest! I have been wanting one for so long but honestly I've never been able to justify the cost. It was exactly the prize I would choose to win, I can't even say how happy I was.

I can't believe my girl is three already. She was born 10/27/2009. We found her right after DD's big wedding. It took us a year of planning and praying but we believe we found our perfect match.

No big celebration planned just some of Daisy's favorite things, the Park, some Chuck-it and a trip to the Specialty Pet Store to find her perfect toy.
