Birthday Party!

We went to a new facility for a therapy visit today and we encountered one gentleman that just loved Sophie. He wanted to give her his potato chips and when I said no that she had some treats, she better not have any, he said well I have a can of Alpo! Anyway, someone else in the area asked me how old she was and I said she would be 2 in a couple months ..... the man immediately said "We have to have a birthday party for her". Black Golden Doodle losing hair in spots

We adopted a black golden doodle, who has become one of our family very fast... however he was so matted we need to have him shaved down so he could regrow out. I noticed about 4 weeks ago his hair was not growing back in spots. My groomer said this is probably a thyroid problem, He eats fine, acts fine, and doesn't show any sign of irritation.

Any advice out there would help

Pregnant mama

My dam is 55 days and huge. she has at least 11 pups, possibly 12 or 13. I'm just babying her until her 59th day which is your gestation day, next Tuesday! I really hope she makes it very close to that. I don't think I'll be leaving her until she starts delivering.

Callie and the Fitness Sabatoge!

No, she didn't eat the DVD, or the DVD case, if that's what you're expecting (not that anyone would be shocked!). It's winter time, and much like Callie, I've found that I put on a bit of a winter coat. However, I don't think mine (which is made of ice cream and cheese) is nearly as cute as her furry locks. My labradoodle Bella scratches herself a lot. She is just 15 weeks old. I have her a bath today and she is still doing it. Is this normal?

First Day of Puppy Daycare !!

Today is Chewie's first day of puppy daycare. I hope he is having a good time. I felt almost like it was my son's first day of daycare!! I hope the other puppies are being nice to him. I would hate for him to be picked on. He is so submissive around other dogs. I always want to jump in at puppy class and "protect" my baby. Lucy's First Neighborhood Walk

Lucy turns 11 weeks old tomorrow. Yesterday she got her 2nd set of shots and the vet gave her the go ahead to attend a local facility's Puppy Romp and Puppy Classes. Also he said she could start walking in the neighborhood as long as we stuck to sidewalks. Up till now we've been practicing on lead walking indoors and on the back patio. my poor DOOdle

I came home last night from my 6 day vacation. Duncan was thrilled to see me.

Duncan had spent the first 3 days at my sister-in-law's house where he scarfed down his "cousin" Casey's wet food at every meal. Remington and the Toilet!

New Year, new projects…

I knew our fence was getting old; we put it up the first year we moved in the house, 1995. But I didn’t realize how old until last week. Houdini Dog

Houdini Dog; Riley can now open doors. Our house is an older vintage with glass door knobs. He jumps up and puts his paws around the door knob and works it back and forth until the door opens. Saw him working at it and using his paws in this holding maneuver, didn't think anything of it. When I yelled at my daughter that she didn't close the door tight, as he hits the door with his body to open it when not latched completely. In memory of Thule and in honor of her life, let's all make sure we hug our doods today! And remember that life is just that much sweeter with our family - human and furryfolk alike. Go home and hug-a-dood or chi, or lab, etc.....

First Agilty Class

Just got back from our first 30 minute agility lesson. Being I went into this basically not knowing what to expect, I sure got a shocking revelation. Seems its more on the handlers to get their moves down correctly; as Riley picked up his end relatively quickly. As I am typing this, I am also thinking about the three moves I am supposed to be proficient on for next class.

GUINNESS IS MAKING ME LOOK LIKE AN ABUSIVE MOTHER- Expecting ASPCA At My Door

Guinness has a new trick and it's totally embarrassing me. When we're out and people come over to greet him, I put him in a sit/stay before there is any petting. If he gets up and pulls or lunges I take him right away, and he never gets to greet the person.
