Since Bernie was introduced to our home in September he's been obsessed with the mail. Not the mail carrier, but the items that come out of the box. Granted, I've documented his fondness for wood and paper related products, bark mulch, wrapping material, toilet paper, etc. but I've never understood the mail thing.
Other than perhaps the Doodle affliction for "you have it so I'm pretty sure I want it." And we're talking WANT it. Jumping, snatching, sneakily running his nose along the…

Wow, these bells work better than I thought….
So….. we have a little string of bells (as many of you do) hanging on the back door that the girls use to let us know when they need/want to go out. Apparently, I didn’t respond as quickly as little Miss Penny thought I should…The ringing was fierce and seemed much louder than usual from the other room as well. “Hmm” I said to myself, “She must really need to go”. ‘Round the corner I came to fall upon the CUTEST sight I’ve ever seen….…

Even though I regularly home cook fresh foods, buy organic treats, or make the liver treats, skin and core apples and give carrots and fresh veggies as treats, buy turkey dogs, low fat yogurt and generally spend more time and money on our dogs food than our own, our Bella still not only continues to eat her own poop, (must be tasty with all the good food in it, huh?) But now she has gotten into the habit of eating any tissue she can lap up before I catch her. And she is so darn quick, quiet…

Our dogs have the biggest basket full of toys in our living room. Vern loves to pull the toys out and put them all over the house. Fudge is more selective, but usually likes the toy she thinks will catch Vern's attention for a good chase. Today, I had to take the cat to the vet and left the carrier out in our foyer. Mind you, the cat was not in the carrier or they would have liked it even better. All day, they would not leave that carrier alone. First, Vern tried to get in it...think Winnie…

We have a Romp tomorrow. Took Riley in for a haircut yesterday, so he would be styling!! Well he looks like one of the three stooges that had something blow up in his face and scenged his forehead. And his eyes look like he looking at you from a cave. Never understood, why cousin didn't go on his date in High School after my dad gave him a haircut. Now, I…

Don't know if all you remember me, my mom got me from a rescue 9 weeks ago. I just have to say "I'M TIRED OF MY MOM COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME!" Don't take this wrong. I love my new house and family and my new brother Gus is GREAT. Here is the problem;
When my mom gets up in the morning she gets a cup of coffee then gives Gus and I breakfast, mom sits at this machine and Gus and I play. Well I'm tired of her saying "Rory what's in you mouth?...drop it...Rory DROP IT NOW,,,,,,,! I…

When Traveler got shaved, November 18, I was wondering how long it would take for 'naked dog' to get his fuzzy on. I think he's fuzzy enough now, so thought I would post before and after shots, for the doodle parents who are just now getting their first glimpes of their pup au naturel. There are other great before and after shots on DK, so this is just one to add to the album. :) Does he look like the same dog?

I can't foster or adopt a doodle because I have four resident Maltese plus five foster Maltese along with our Goldendoodle Holly.
However, I am driving up to Hesperia, CA (north of San Bernardino) to pick up a rescue doodle from the dog shelter there and deliver her to a foster home in Orange County, CA.
Watch out Richard, you don't want to fall in love with this doodle! As the old saying goes, "If you visit the bicycle shop enough times, you will eventually…

Well, I have finally achieved my goal of becoming a Hopeless Doodle Addict on DoodleKisses. Maybe I should say I have been recognized publicly as a HDA, because my family has known this to be true for quite some time. When I told my family I was going after the title of HDA, they wanted to know what happens when I get there. I told them I might get a really cool trophy that has been kissed by lots of dogs and a box of stuff picked out by the previous HDA. When they asked where I would put…

It's interesting what you learn from a dog in the first couple of weeks after their arrival. How they eat, their schedules, and most of all, their personality.
We named our new pup Gabby before she even arrived for two reasons: 1) The breeder's name for her was "Gabriella," and 2) she looked like "Gabby" from the photos.
After two weeks with her, we faced the fact that the name just didn't fit. Not only did it cause confusion between our two dogs ("Penny" and "Gabby" sound…

Hi everyone
I thought I would update this great community on Kona since everyone was so helpful and forthcoming. We decided as a family that we could not bear to part with Kona. My husband and I were dissuaded from re-homing by three very devastated and persistent kids. We all agreed that we would work hard on training Kona and learning to anticipate and listen to his cues as well. We also felt that in many ways Kona is such an ideal, friendly and highly intelligent dog…

Kobe a 5 pound Maltese and English Cocker Spaniel cross is a rescue puppy born from a Maltese mom who was found pregnant wandering the streets of a local city. Holly is, of course, our 55-pound, 3-year old, Goldendoodle who just loves our rescue puppies and is very gentle with them.
Kobe left today with his new family for his forever home and I wanted to document how well Holly and Kobe play together.
I did not know how to post this Youtube video on the video…
