Cider had his first Vet visit under my care. He weighs almost 21 lbs!! Anyone else have their pup weigh about that much at 11 weeks? He was such a good boy, he's in great health thankfully!!

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Ernie's breeder, Debbie, written in Ernie's mom's voice. Her name is Dazzle, or Dazz for short. Because it was soo stinking cute, I'm going to copy and paste the original e-mail from Ernie's mom here, as well as my reply, in Ernie's voice!
From Dazzle, Ernie's mom:

I promised I'd be back and here I am to fill you in the on the recent developments! To my surprise, my post last week created quite a stir. Today, I sit here and my eyes feel like they may withdraw into my head because I'm so tired! My last two weeks have been filled with sleepless nights, and now we have a puppy!
To get everyone up to speed, the plan for the engagement changed, if only slightly. (If you don't know the story, see the details…

Today was a big day for Bailey ...I found a groomer here in town that had a great reputation for grooming large breeds. Eric-the-groomer came highly recommended so I jumped in with both feet to finally have Bailey groomed for the summer. I am pleased with the way she looks but wished he had left her face a little longer as well as the plummes(sp) on her tail. I actually brought a picture of Banjo with me so he could get an idea of what I was looking for.
Eric the groomer…

On our yearly trek to Gilbert AZ we leave behind our beloved Fozzy Bear. We found a wonderful family to watch him while we are gone. I interviewed several dogsitters and fell jn love with this family once I saw the way Fozzy and and they reacted to one another. They send me daily pix and updates on him. He is having so much fun with them and their dog he may not want to come home.
Because I know he is in such good hands I havent…

Happy 4th Birthday to Zeke! He is our 1st of 3 doodles who still thinks he is an only doodle. This big fluffy guy is lovable, smart, very intuitive, obedient, serious, bossy and a pure joy! He is a big part of the reason we now have 3. Happy birthday big guy and many, many more!…

This “heart warming” story just HAD to be shared. Dogs – be they doodles or not – can truly impact our lives in so many ways….
Enjoy
A lot of us are so dependent on our dogs we’d list them right up there with oxygen.
For Alida Knobloch, her dog is oxygen.
The three-year-old Georgia girl, who has a…

If you save one dog, you won't change the world, but the world will change for that one dog!

Sunday started out like any other weekend day. I was in my bedroom when my daughter came in and she and the dogs piled into bed with me. I asked her what she was doing and she told me she was playing a game called Words with Friends on her Ipad2. Never having played this game before, I watched her play for a bit and told her to let me play. Big mistake. I hate to admit this, but I am actually a Scrabble virgin. I have never played the game in my life, yet I have seen it…

I just had an experience that terrified me. Guinness and Murph were playing here in the den, and I was on the computer. They were doing their "shark biting" thing and having a good time. Then I noticed that there was a problem....they both started thrashing about and Guinness was making an ungodly noise. I jumped up and realized that their collars were somehow stuck together and Guinness could not breathe...he was strangling. The problem was that they were thrashing so much that I…

As I sit in a hotel room while on a business trip eating my dinner from a multitude of take-out containers, I can’t help but think about the fact that we have become a society where so many things are disposable. Take-out containers, plastic utensils, paper cups, plastic shopping bags, water bottles etc. People no longer use cloth napkins at home because it is so much easier to just to use paper napkins that you can toss out after a single use. Tissues instead of hankies (although I will…

Since my middle daughter is now working in Singapore and my sister is in Vancouver Skype has become very important to me and enables me to have long chats with both of them. When Sophie is talking Riley goes crazy, he checks the computer and goes around the back of it to look for her as he knows her voice. I don't think he can see her very clearly on the screen but he certainly knows her voice and it is so very cute to watch him cocking his head and listening intently while she tells him…

A few years ago at Home Depot, I met “Alex.” He was just a “little thing”, and when I tried to speak to him – he seemed afraid. I guess my “bark” was worse than I thought!
I would see him around from time to time but he never really got that close to me. He always managed to keep his distance. His mom liked me – but not…

Well...I survived the first week of my life as a double doodle mommy! Whew! What an eventful week! I thought I'd share with you some of what I learned.
1. Before you get 2 doodles, make sure you have a king sized bed! I didn't realize how much more crowded you can get with yourself, spouse, 40 pound mini doodle, and 60 pound standard doodle!
2. Going for errands with BOTH doodles is not quite as easy. I was bound and determined to take Maggie with me for my…

Has anyone ever seen the movie Hachi?! OMG I thought Marley and Me was a tear-jerker but it was nothing compared to this! It was a beautiful movie about a dog and the true friendship that dogs give their owners. I have often read on many of your posts that our dogs choose us...we do not choose them. This movie gives new meaning to that statement. I guess technically this is a children's movie.. it's rated G...but to me was a bit mature for little ones. If you haven't seen it, do…

Five years ago we ran to the store for some paper towels and came home with my precious little Chloe! My first "own" dog.
Actually we put a deposit down and ran all over town for supplies and came back for her. I told DH that we should have called her "BOUNTY" Anyway, I am so grateful to have found her and then better late than never found all of you doodle lovers too! Chloe changed our lives so dramatically, I really hated leaving her alone all day and a year later I found Myla and…

Grendel, daughter's dog, is visiting for a while, and when a UPS package arrived, he grabbed it and opened it for her. It was hilarious, and he didn't touch the shoes inside! I was so amused I forgot all about trying to get pictures or videos until some time in the aftermath. Now, this might not be something you would want your dog to do, but Gren would have stopped anytime if told to. He just loves to open boxes! Trav was fascinated too, and learned from his bro. He sort of delicately…
