18 weeks old today. Why does it feel we've had Lucy for about 3 years, rather than nearly 3 months? Anyway, I just wanted to express how I'm beginning to feel a real bond with Lucy that had been missing in earlier weeks. I always loved her and felt a connection to her, but that true bond that comes from really knowing another being, that's what I'm talking about. And its a mutual feeling. Lucy is learning to know me too. I love that. Those early puppy weeks we were all so new to each other.…

On my drive home from work all I could think about was "It's Gus' bath night." Brushed him throughly last night and more during lunch in preparation for his bath. Don't get me wrong Gus loves his baths it's me the "procrastinator" that can think of any excuse to postpone "the bath." When I arrived home on my doorstep was........
I…

Wilbur Foster Doodle is making great strides! He is eating a little bit more (not as much as I would like, but more), drinking normally, and is having pretty regular "eliminations". He's still a super snuggler, and he and Callie have come to a bedtime understanding (the understanding is if they both want to be there, they have to deal with the other one!).
Wilbur things that make me laugh:
- Monday night I was getting ready for bed. I heard the unmistakable sound of…

I will spare you the details, but I had a bad bout with food poisoning Monday night/Tuesday morning. Peri girl never left my side. She followed me everywhere. She licked me all over every time I would get back in bed. She was so good yesterday while I stayed home from work - she would go run around and roam the house for a while and I didn't even worry about her getting into trouble (she didn't). My mom came over to walk both dogs and after that quick walk, she got in bed with me and didn't…

Murphy is 15 months old thursday. He has been with us most of every hour of every day since he was 8 weeks old. He stays within sight or sits with us on beds or couches day and night.He loves to ride in the car with us no matter where we're going, so we take him with us a lot.
He is allowed access to the potty yard every few hours as someones always going in and out and he accompanies, so holding his bladder for more than 4 hours has never been a real issue for him. He has been living…

* Good Girl -- AM
I took my son to the school bus stop this morning. When I returned home, I saw Butter sitting in my front yard! My son must have not closed the front door completely, now the door was pretty much wide open.:-(
Even though we have fenced in yard, he could have also half way closed the gate as well. Not a good situation. Butter came right to me, and I got to be wondering where is Charlie?! She is not in the yard!!
As I escorted Butter toward the front…

Sophie is doing SO well, learning to be confident & happy. Except in the car. Poor thing has terrible anxiety. I really think it's the anxiety that's making her sick -- even more than the nausea.
I think her anxiety in the car is related to the fact that while most of the car rides in her life have had happy destinations, this has not always been the case. Plus, she endured a rough start to her life in a puppy mill and ended up abandoned & tied to a tree, stuck in a…
