Well, we finally got home and picked up Fozzy Bear! I could not believe how much he had grown. He only put on a little over a pound, but he got so tall! When he saw us he just went CRAZY! I wish I would have had a video camera! It was SO FUNNY! He saw the boys first and just was a crazy licking and jumping machine, he kept trying to kiss thier faces jumping from boy to boy - back and forth! Well then he saw me and started going nuts! I crouched down and he was licking and hugging me and putting…

You know. . .this picture says it all. Even though it is only 3 out of the 5. . . it's the heart and commaraderie in a pack that makes it so special to me. Just like your best group of girlfriends. . .there is always someone to play with, someone to chew on a stick with. . .and when it's dark and stormy there is always someone to cuddle up to and make everything okay. Our pack is very young with only one of the "first generation" still around. That…

The past couple of nights, Remington has been so extremely good for me. He goes out to potty right away, no crying when in the crate, and all I have to say is "crate time" and he walks right in there with no problems. However, when I got home from work on Monday night Dan and Remington were going head to head! LOL!
I called Dan right before I went into my evening job as a cheer instructor to see how Remington was doing. Dan was extremely frustrated with him! It had been raining for…

So, I accidently knocked Max in the mouth and his second upper front tooth came out, but he swallowed it. We were playing on the floor and he went right for my hand while I went right for his body and clunk. It wasn't very hard. Yet, it did the trick on a loose tooth. I could see the poor guy swallow it too! The good news is that I have many other teeth to go. No, I don't plan on knocking any others out so, there is no need to call the ASPCA or PETA on me.
On a much better note - I…

Jesse never saw any bright light or tunnel. I asked.
But now there is a light that we are both seeing. Jess was not feeling all that great yesterday, but today he had a little more zip in his step. (Albeit walker assisted) I worked and decided to take a day off Mayo. I only called Jess about a dozen times. He sounded optimistic with each call. He is ready to move forward having another day like he had today where progress can be felt.
Jess stayed busy. He had his swallow…

My fiancee and I have been wanting a dog for some time now and out of no where we found our perfect match!
We had just moved into our first home and since Dan works nights I was staying there in that big house all by myself most of the time. This was very lonely not to mention a bit scary... so I approached him the next morning about wanting to get a dog. We had talked about this possibility for a while now... but we just weren't sure we were ready for the responsible. However, we…

What a great weekend getaway.
I only ever wished that the fun lasted longer and the drive much shorter!
We made the 7 hour trek to the Fabulous Florida Keys this weekend to visit the family for Easter.
Ramen was able to reunite with her family again. How wonderful that some of the siblings are able to meet up so often and play!
She is by far smaller than the boys! I completely overestimated how big she would grow to be. At 9 months old Ramen is around 50 pounds, at least she…

We all had a wonderful Easter weekend. Kona and I competed for her first Rally Novice title on Saturday and we earned it :) She got a score of 89 and we placed 4th out of 13 entrants. I moved her up to Advanced on Sunday and we got our first leg there with a 79 score. The judges were tough but fair, and the grass was sooo tempting to ALL the dogs. On her Advanced run, she had her first jump, and it was her first time off leash, what a good girl. There were more Non Qualifying dog runs at this…

Monique is looking more pregnant than ever and that should be the case since the vet had her due for delivery last Friday. But here's the thing - I don't think the vet was accurate. I took Monique for an ultrasound at what I had calendared as 28 days, as we do with all our moms. The vet said she looked more like 40 days, so I re-calendared Monique's due date closer than I had previously noted. But she didn't look very far along and her due date came and went. Her milk just…

I have to say, I feel quite odd about what I am going to wrtie. Yea! Vacation is over!?!? And we get to see Fozzy Bear and Boomer. Honestly, I don't know if DK made it easier or harder to be away from our dogs. But I kept thinking about how big Fozzy must be getting, and how I hate to leave Boomer at his age......we watched Marley and Me over vacation and it hit home....... Yea! I can't wait to see the boys!

Okay. . .I won't post pictures today. . .that would just be too embarrassing for Finn because he ended up spending his first Easter getting a shave!!!! After 48 hours of constantly cleaning his poor stinky bottom I asked Teri (our breeder) what I should do and she said to go ahead and get him clipped/shaved. Well, I was going to take him in for it, but by last night. . .I couldn't take it anymore. . .I had to take action because we were running out of paper towels and the wet wipes just weren't…

Jess was anxious for me to get up to Mayo this morning. When I arrived he just completed his breakfast and announced how drained he was. If P.T. came by, he was afraid he could not do anything. He managed to shower and sat down to groom himself. He went back to bed for while. Lunch came about 11 a.m. and Jess had little interest in eating again. He picked at the inside of his sandwich and wanted to back to bed. I reminded him that he needed to stay up for at least forty minutes. Poor thing was…

Last night I noticed that Max had a few loose teeth and today he lost his top front tooth (incisor). Unfortunately, I haven't found it! I bet the tooth fairy will leave Max a chicken jerkey for his effort. He doesn't seem to be in any pain but, today is his last day of pain medication from the neutering. I froze a washcloth for him to chew on. I can't wait for those sharp canines to vanish. :D
Today, I tried free feeding. He is so picky and just isn't into eating and so far, so good.…

Okay I admit that I should walk Sam more. At home he plays hard and runs up and down the wooded ravines. We are visiting our daughter in Wisconsin and there are too many dogs in the neighborhood to just let him run, so I put on his Ceasar Milan Illusion Collar. We have used it a few times. What can I say he was a good boy. His history is he is a puller and at 86# was not fun to walk on lease. With this collar it is easier to make the correction and it stays where it needs to be to do the…

I thought it would be interesting for new and existing doodle owners to see the difference in my two doodles. Here are pictures of both of them the day they came home. You can see how much bigger Finn is than Tallulah. . .exactly twice the size!!!! Tallulah was about 8 lbs when she came home and Finn was 15.7. Tallulah is a standard F1B, her mom was a doodle and her dad was a standard poodle. Finn is a giant…

Well. . . .it's Easter Sunday and I can't think of anything better that the Easter Bunny could have dropped off here!!!! We had to get another bath this morning, couldn't have been long after the Easter Bunny had left. . .anyway, tonight we are going to try something new and hopefully the mornings won't automatically mean a bath for the poor guy. I must say, though.. . .I've never had a dog so good in the bath, so kudos to Teri for socializing her…
