Some days it seemed like today would never arrive. She flew from Portland, Or to Burbank, Ca this morning. 2 hours; arrived at 11:15.
We are now a two-doodle family.
The puppy is home. 10 weeks and 2 days old. Don't know her official weight yet. She will be going to the vet tomorrow morning for her post-homecoming once over. But she is BIG compared to our first girl at the same age.
Our first girl--Daisy---came home at 9 weeks and…

We are planning on renting a cabin in the Smokey Mountains and a friend advised that we need to be concerned about Ticks over the summer months. Any suggestions on how to avoid a tick infestation on our Doodle babyl?

Today has started out going so slowly and these last 7 hours have flown by! Alaska Airlines did a wonderful job taking care of Kai. We were worried they wanted to keep him. They kept saying how sweet he was and how sorry they were that their policy allowed them to give him water but not to take him out. He is doing awesome!
Want to send a special thank you to Thomas Doodle for the suggestion of paint rollers, they are Kai's new favorite…

Okay, I am fed up with rain and mud. It has just gotten to be more then I can do to keep them clean every time they come in from the mud for days at a time (not only them but the house too). I had my husband build me a mud room and I love it. We turned half our garage into a play/mud room filled with toys and bones. He even ran a duct out there from our aircondioner/heat to keep them comfortable. When it is raining they can go in and out as they please to do their stuff . We take turns going…

I just saw a commercial for Pet Airways.
They only fly pets not humans.
Pups are in the cabin, not cargo.
Checked by attendents every 15 minutes.
They don't fly all over the country but something to check into if you need to fly your pups.
Flights start at $149.00

This is one of the kindest things you may ever see..
This is
not our story. Vera posted it on the Doodle Zoo and was kind enough to allow me to copy and post it here.
I don't know who wrote this nor is it known who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service.
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed…

I found a website that sells a tug toy and leash as one. The make the tradional leash or as a Slip Lead (martingale and leash in one).
They have lots of choices or will make yours the colors you want.
I ordered mine but just ordered 'custom' colored one.
I will post pictures when I get them.
A very nice site to work with - my order was ready to be shipped in 2 days of my order.

Now I was out in the yard trying to fix my plants. When what do I see - Fergie running through the yard with a squirrel in her mouth. OMG! that could be bad I think - squirrels are tough and mean. Fergie is just a sweetie. Thank god for the training I've done with her. I immediately yelled "leave it" and she dropped it immediately and came to me. As the squirrel ran away I could see the tip of its tail hanging by a thread. I think that squirrel won't visit this yard anymore.

A great white shark has nothing on Hershey's chomp. And when he finds something he wants there's no letting go. To him, it's a game, to my daughter and the hem of her skirt, it's not. I have barked loudly "NO" with my super mom-dog bark, and he, "grrrrrs" back at me. I have to laugh at his tenacity, talk about a dog with a bone. I told him is stubbornness will come in handy when he's a lawyer.
Tomorrow we will try dropping a can with coins in it, to distract him, if that doesn't…

Dear God: Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good Dog.
1. I will not eat the cats' food before they eat it or after they throw it up.
2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
3. The Litter Box is not a cookie jar.
4. The sofa is not a 'face towel'.
5. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
6. I will not play tug-of-war…

First, I would like to thank everyone who came to my page and wished me well for my birthday. That means a lot and I appreciate it. It also says a lot about this community. I'm now 36 years old and I feel like I just graduated high school! It may be because the only children I have is little furry Max. :)
I got a nice new computer for my birthday and I am now viewing gorgeous doodles on a 23" flat panel wide screen monitor. Yes, they are twice as cute now - haha!
The best…

I've been nursing all these impatients thru all the bad weather this spring. I just went out and Lucy dug up half of them. She's a mess and half the flowers are gone. DAM. I guess it's time to replant. Oh great. Now she wants to come in the house with those dirty feet. That's why they make puppies so cute or you'd kill them.

Sometimes I really dont understand myself. I would like to be a fly on the wall listening in to the analysis of my psyche by some Dr. Phil type.
We have always had a dog since 1986. We are on our 4th. The first 2 had their time on earth and crossed over.
But I distinctly remember saying, 2 yrs ago or so, that Bailey (then 10) would be our last dog. I obviously wasnt that enthused in dog ownership at that point in my life thinking of the hassles that come along with owning…

I finally got a new pup. Zack was born 3/10/09 and we picked him up on 5/30. He is a sweet boy with a great temperment. He already knows sit and down after a couple days work.
He is a very picky eater. He weighted 20.4 pounds. She had him on Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy. The bag says 3.3 cups per day for his age and weight. 1.5 cups is the best he would do and over the first few days he dropped to 19.5 pounds. The vet put him on Nutri-Cal (2 tablespoons per day.) He is now back to 20.3…

Well, we have made it home from Fenway's exciting day at the vet. He is SOOOO different than Shiloh was. Shiloh was all drugged up after he was neutered and slept for a long time.....Fenway seems almost wound up and happy. He has also already tried the butt rub.....in the grass before we ever left the vet! I had to keep pulling him to a stand on his leash so that he wouldn't hurt the stitches before we even got out of the parking lot. He also went crazy trying to lick it already....so I put the…

I had forgotten what it's like having a brand new puppy in the house.
Hershey is a cross between an adorable stuffed animal, a toddler in the terrible 2s and a defiant teenager. He's so cute and so bad all at once. How often can you bathe a puppy, because he likes to tinkle on the floor and then, somehow get it all over him. He managed to get my grocery list off the fridge and chomp it to pieces. (remember he's a little puppy). I am looking forward to his puppy training classes…

Yesterday we made our first visit to the Leita Thompson Dog Park (http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM1EK0). The park is reasonably new. By new I mean it has probably been there a year or two, but we have lived in Roswell since 1983, so new is relative. When we first moved to the Roswell area, what is now the park use to be a very nice horse farm. The family who owned the farm donated it to the city of Roswell. Roswell in turn acquired more land around the farm thus creating the Leita Thompson…
