Well DH is gone for the weekend. I am sitting on my bed with Amante next to me. I promised my DH I would not allow any dog to sleep in our bed. Mind you I had to promise that about our kids too. Well I am comfy cozy and am tempted to let Amante stay! SHHHHHH! our secret ok! Do I or not!!!

I figured I would give an update on Jack...We have been to the vet, the specialist and the ER more times then I can actually count. So far, we still do not have a definitive diagnoses. Today we went back for more extensive testing, Blood work being sent away to Texas somewhere.
He seems like he is back to a decent level of himself, He is eating and playing when provoked to. I was kind of hoping the specialist would have said it was a virus or something but his lab work is so…

Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful Princess named Fudge in the land of Seven Valleys. She had beautiful, curly brown hair and was called a Doodle.
One day she turned to her stunning, thin, and exceptionally smart mother known as Queen…

Uggh...Had our first vet scare this morning and I feel like a bad mommy. Zoey managed to get her hands or rather her mouth on a tampon wrapped in tissue out of the trash this am (eeeww...GROSS...I don't know WHY they are so enticed by this. My GR did this too...disgusting). I am usually very good about keeping the trash cans up, but she found me at a weak moment and of course once I realized she had it a game of keep-away ensued. By the time I got my hands on her and was able to pry her…

Brady is such a bundle of doodle joy - I thought I'd just write a little about him while he's still a real puppy! This little guy (as our Vet fondly calls 'Brady Bum' - couldn't be any nicer or more adorable! Since day l he has been so, so wonderful at night (never a peep out of him). He sleeps all night (sometimes in bed with me) but usually on the floor. He has just graduated to the actual floor from his soft bed which he likes to have a tossle with…

I should never be surprised at how good our Goldendoodle, Holly, is to our Maltese but, every once in a while she astounds even me.
I was preparing the dog's kibble topping (beef, carrot and sweet potato) and Holly and our little blind Maltese rescue, Peli were right by me. I accidently dropped two pieces of cooked carrot which is one of Holly's favorite treats.
Holly ran up to the nearest piece but, when she saw that little blind Peli was sniffing around…

My DH and I have had Leah, our 18 month-old labradoodle foster, in our home for nearly 3 weeks, and all i can say is this -- SHE HAS COME OUT OF HER SHELLl! For the first ten days that we had her, Leah really didn't want to play -- and that drove Knox NUTS, because PLAY is his middle name! He would try his hardest to get her attention and she would FLAT OUT ignore him! I just figured that some dogs like to play and some don't and that Leah was the latter. She was perfectly content to lay…

As I drove in heavy traffic through town in a REALLY BAD neighborhood today I saw what looked like a medium doodle of about 38-40lbs. Tail was shorter, so maybe a poodle mix? Beautiful red/apricot shaded colors. This poor red dog look scruffy like maybe someone had done a really bad scissor cut ( but I've done that a few times to my doodles) It's weight was good and other than that, was it just a bad hair cut? A…

Well I was walking Amante at the outside mall today. As usual a women stops me and is loving my doodle and talking with me about how cute he is how soft he is etc. A man comes walking by with his THREE Pit bulls that are decorated in chains and those collars that look like they have prongs on them, well one off the pitbulls goes crazy and scares everyone in the area especially Amante that is now on my head with his paws attatched like suction cups to my neck. The lady who was talking to me…

It's been about a month since I have posted about my dear Bella, and it's time to finally add more thoughts on her progress so she doesn't get a reputation as BAD DOG BELLA.
So here are the things I am grateful for today:
1. The carpet is totally intact.
2. I have trash in my bathroom trash cans and it stays there.
3. All socks in our drawers have partners, matching ones at that..
4. I can drop something and not have to do summersaults to get to it before…

Today the boys went to Daycare for the first time in weeks. I haven't been sending them because they've been getting plenty of exercise this Summer, but today DH and I had plans so we decided it would be a good day for them to go. We stayed for a while after dropping them off and watched on camera. It was really pretty interesting. They got there mid morning, so most of the other dogs were already there. They all seem to know when there's a new dog coming in....I suppose they hear the…

Fudge and Vern are my dogs. Most of their care falls to me, because I am home with them the most, and I think that alone should make me their favorite person in the whole world. I just don’t think I should have to tolerate anything less. I gave birth to two lovely daughters that love me, but they think their dad walks on water. I can’t tell you how many times I have picked up the phone and one of them has asked to talk to their dad about a pressing…

I am Thrilled to say, I have finally seen real progress in Sophia the past few days, yeaahhhh. She finally gets it when I say "NO BITE" and removes her mouth. I have been concentrating on that particular "bad habit" all week and letting some other issues slide, for now. As some of you know, I will be looking after my two young grandbabies and was extremely worried about her nipping/biting issues. I would like to think it is all the training I have done this week BUT, I also may have…

Wow, she sure settled in quickly. Ember is an absolute delight to me and everyone who meets her (and she knows it!).
After our first week with some weird digestion issues, all has cleared up and she is happy as can be. All looks good at the vet and she also got her 2nd set of shots. She was such a trooper while I managed to contain my anxiety at the sight of the needles.
Highlights:
- We started a puppy class at a local doggie daycare/boarding…

It's been an interesting week, to say the least. Murphy's biopsy came back positive for melanoma, confirmed by the vet school, and he will have radiation in the near future. He had surgery to remove what I hope is a hemangioma on his ankle Wednesday. We are waiting on those results.I am having trouble with him chewing the sutures out. Any suggestions appreciated.
The DSs and girlfriends flew in on Friday. By Saturday morning, we were flooded in with the water rising. (Quite a…

Just hanging out today enjoying a chance to read my US Weekly and a cup of coffee while Zoey took a snooze and the phone rings. My BFF is on the line saying that she is out this way running errands and wanted to know if she could come by for a little bit. Sure...of course. What she did not tell me was that she had her two little ones with her (5 and 2 1/2 yrs. old). Zoey has had no experience yet around little kids. My niece and nephew were around when she first came home, but they are…

We have a fabulous dog park here in Jax. It is 42 acres of fenced in areas that are seperated into play areas for small dogs, senior dogs, kids and dogs, agility nature trails and then the mack daddy area with walking trails and open play areas with a pond.
I was really apprehensive about taking Bailey to the park because of some of the horror stories I have heard about dog parks. But I thought I would at least give it a good try. We started off meeting the nicest couple…
