Polar Bear

We got news in the mail that our house has won a prize in our local community Christmas decoration contest!  Our son says we were a shoe in with our very own Live Polar Bear AKA Neely the Golden doodle!

Eli week 2 (cross post from DRC)

We just got back from the Vet and he is 39.6p!  That's is up 6p! He is so handsome with some meat on his bones!

Eli is doing great, there is something to be said for a Doodle who can lay in your lap and who also has the fleece coat. Brian keeps telling him your so soft, yes you are. LOL

I thought Jordan was soft with her soft curl coat....Eli has her beat! Plus, he does not shed (but neither does Jordi)

Still some bathroom issues he had his first "accident" for…

Soft stools

My 7 month labradoodle got round worms and giardia. He got put on medication and now it is all gone. He still gets soft stools. I give a tablespoon of pumpkin in his food and that seems to help. He is on the Kirkland food. That is what the breeder recommended. I have taken all snacks away from him.

Wondering if I should change his food?

Mutt, Mayonnaise, Mennace

Not too long ago, about four to five months actually, a hilarious incident involving my doodle, Tucker, occured. My mom, sister and I went to Netflix to buy a movie, leaving Tucker out of his kennel for the first time. Netflix was closing in 20 minutes, so we left the house hastily without noticing a jar of mayonnaise left on the counter. As you may know, my dog is about five times larger than a regular goldendoodle (we think he was exposed to nuclear radiation), so he could reach the…

It's one thing to kill a fly, but now a bunny?!

Porter tried to come inside this afternoon with a mangled bloody rabbit dangling from his mouth.  It was so gross.  I brought him in, fed him some water, and went outside to dispose of the bunny.  Now, DH is saying I should have let him keep it because he earned it!  Someone please talk me down from feeling guilty about taking away the mangled bunny.  Also, he just turned two, why is he now so adept at killing things: catching the fly last week and the bunny today specifically.  Could it be…

Puppies vs Toddlers

I am sitting here with a migraine and about to go to pick up my adorable grandchildren to spend the night. I'm not sure how I will manage this, but DH is the best grandfather or we couldn't even try it. As I lie here contemplating the next 24 hours, I am suddenly struck that my 15 week old puppy and my 20 month old grandson have lots in common.

Both are full of crazy energy!

Both are testing us constantly to determine what will happen if they misbehave.

Both…

Bad, but lovable

Okay, first I must tell you about me. I have typed here before on my mom's blog, but now I am old enough to have my own blog on doodle kisses! Yaay! Anyway, lets get to the spotlight here. My goldendoodle, who is extremely lovable and passionate and loyal and the such, is a menace. LITERALLY! His name is Tucker and he is about two and a half years old and he is the cutest thing ever, so he usually gets away with things like eating my socks or drinking out of the toilet. These things are…

Rooney was attacked at our dog park

I haven't been on DK since the attack, I've just been so upset (at myself) that I couldn't even come to you all for the comfort that I knew would be here.  Before I go any further - Rooney is fine, acts like his normal, loving, happy self so I do not think that he has any emotional trauma.  We took him back to the dog park yesterday when we knew that it would be empty and he just ran right it so he isn't associating the park with the attack which is good.  He is on antibiodics but we never…

Darwin And Guitars

DH used to play guitar but for the last couple of years has been too busy to practice at all. Well, he decided to pull it out for the first time since we've had Darwin. I never expected such a strong reaction from our mellow pup! His reaction was hilarious because it was completely unexpected. DH played a chord and Darwin jumped about 4 feet and BOLTED.  I thought at first that he was afraid of it, because of his crazy reaction. I was shocked because Darwin isn't freaked out by any sounds…

I made my mommy mad (again)

Mommy and Daddy came home from work today to find..... shredded paper everywhere!  I had watched them get together some papers the other day and they seemed important, so i thought id be helpful and arrange them nicely. Well, they didnt appreciate my hard work (I assure you it took me a while to get the paper into tiny pieces). Mommy just spent a long time sticking pieces back together - I KNEW she would enjoy that! Mom says its good evidence that I dont eat things I destroy (I think destroy…

My Murphy is 2 today!!!!!

So hard to believe he is 2 already. He is such a joy. He's had a day filled with hugs and belly rubs and bully sticks and a HUGE bone. He spent hours chewing away. Dad found a really cool gift at the sporting good store. It's a bird used to train hunting dogs.  He loves it!!!  Just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my #1 doodle.   (oops, sideways :) …

Lyric's pregnancy--two weeks to go!

Wow--where did the time go? I realized today that the reason I have been a bit "ho-hum" about Christmas is that I am way more excited about the puppies! I have all my decorations up and I am ready for the adult kids to descend, but right after they leave, I am getting the house back in order before I am too busy to clean it all up! So, I believe the word is "Anticipation"--just like the old Carly Simon song. (Who is old enough to remember it?)

Lyric, on the other hand, is all mellowed…

If doodle #1 could talk, what would he say about doodle #2?

Murphy is just lounging near the hall, waiting for his dad to come back in from the garage. He lifts his head as Bella walks by, then lays back down. "Oh, it's you". "I'm waiting for MY dad, go find some tissue or socks or whatever it is you DO"

Bella pounces on his back and the "play" wrestling begins. Murphy looks at me with a look of "REALLY Mom!" "WHY did you do this to me?"…

" Big Murph" Turns One Year Old!

Today is Murphy's first birthday.  In some ways it feels like he has been with us for so much longer than that.  I took a trip through "memory lane" this morning, and I can't even believe how much this guy has changed.  It's been such a wonderful journey watching this puppy grow and develop his own "big personality".  I will never forget the Friday night that we got our call from DRC that they had a puppy named "Murphy" who needed to be rehomed.  I had applied to adopt a little poodle mix…

This week......

Mum still has a bad back which means dad had to help mum a lot.  He's done the shopping, the housework and even taken me for lots of walks.

When dad comes back with lots of bags, its exciting to see whats in them, although he tells me off for being nosey, some of the things smell really yummy!!  I don't understand why when the bags are unpacked, dad then wraps the contents up in some shiney paper, its great fun with dad chasing me around trying to get the sticky roll back! He then…

Guess who's 2 !?

I cannot believe it has been 2 years already!!

Yes, it's her birthday today.

She was just a tiny little puppy, about the size of her head now... LOL.

She had brought such joy to our family,  brought youth and quality of life back for Butter.

My area of interest has been expanded, and gain other enjoyment related to her.

Met many many great people through her, literally and virtually ( Of course all of my friends from DK )

It is amazing that…
