We leave in 90 minutes for Chianti's x-rays on her leg. Praying for all the best of news!!!! She is so done with her crate and pen. We also need to start breaking some of the horrible habits she has learned over the last 5 weeks!
If anyone has some good thoughts to spare we will take them!!!
I will update with the news when we get back...

Well Finn loves the snow as much as Yankee but that's no surprise. We had a blizzard in Ottawa today. Finn went outside and dug in the snow, jumped in it, wrestled in it and zoomed around the yard. He would go out for about an hour, come in for a bit and then back out he would go. Here are a couple of pics:…

Since the winter freeze has hit, what do you use to keep the walkway free from ice but safe for the doodles - both their feet and if they lick it off their feet?
Has any heard of Magic Ice?

Max turned one today. Thank you all for your continued help. Dog's don't come with owner manuals but, Doodle Kisses is pretty darn close.
He received a party hat, birthday cake toy, a pupcake treat, bits-o-luv chicken strips, flossie and a special meal of Merrick "Wingaling" (He was begging for more) - not to mention tons of cards, well wishes and love.
Pictures to come......

I took the girls to the dog park this morning before work and again on the way home. Charli had such a fantastic time playing with other dogs. Unfortunately, this is how she came home - covered in mud! As soon as we walked in he door, she got brushed thoroughly and then the both hit the shower!! Not a happy little doodle.…

Last year I searched everywhere for cute stockings for Lucy and Sophie and ended up just using some I already had because I couldn't find anything I really liked. This year my search continued until I came across these stockings ..... I thought they were perfect for my black and strawberry blonde girls! Anyone else found any cute stockings for your Doodles? I wasn't able to hang them from the mantle though because they kept wanting to play with them so this spot will have to do!…

In my son's 2nd grade class they don't do a gift exchange. Instead the teacher sent home 24 sheets of Christmas-y looking paper and each child is supposed to write something nice to each student in the class. Nice idea in theory...
We were going down the list tonight and got to Heather. I asked Aaron if Heather was nice? He said, "Not really." I asked what she's good at? He said, "Stealing books off the teachers desk." I asked if she's a good reader? He said, "Nope." I asked if she's…

What?? I am going crazy with this puppy. When I leave, he gets soooo bored, I guess! He finally got to my calendar that I put so HIGH up that he could not reach it, but he did and shredding it to bits!! I guess he didn't like 2009! Then, he ate a whole slab of brownies that were in a tupperware all the way back on the counter.
Now, I'm hoping he doesn't get sick. But he has been running around the house like a nut!!! He NEVER does it for more than 5 mins. but, he is acting weird…

I know a lot of us come to DK to ask questions about problems we are having with our doodles. Instead of that, here is a brag report on how our Peri is maturing into the perfect Lady at 8 months:
1. Lady P now sleeps all night on her fancy bed instead of the crate. This is a new breakthrough because she has refused to leave her crate at night and if she came out of it, she wandered around too much. On Saturday, she slept until 9 am on her bed - I woke up to her laying on her back,…

This morning we woke up to our first snow fall of the season... a whole inch of snow! However, I had been looking forward to this moment for the past 2 months... not because I like snow, but because it was going to be my Remington Bear's first snow :) We were up at 6:00 am this morning like usual and I fed Remi his breakfast and then it was off to potty outside!! Usually he runs out the door happy to have a million new smells to smell... but not this morning! He carefully went outside and stood…

Below are the lyrics to an oldish song (title above) by the Suicide Machines. This is a love song to a dog, and thought that some of y'all might enjoy the lyrics!
Sometimes I Don't Mind lyrics
There's something with the way you walk
There's something there that lights a spark inside of me
And it makes me want to sing - Makes me forget everything
There's something there inside your eyes
Lets me know you'd never lie - You fill me up and I know what you…

I was on a date recently and kept thinking "I wish I was at home, hanging out with Callie. That would be way better than this date". Needless to say, Bachelor #1 should not plan on a date #2!

So I am putting this one out there as I am wondering if I am the only person who feels like this. Today, I took Frankie to a dog park and met up with this man who had two dogs A very active 2 yr old pit bull mix and also a 9 year old shepherd. The pit bull mix just loved Frankie and they played and romped like young dogs do. The poor Shepherd was trying to join in but was dragging her hind quarters behind her. IT just broke my heart. I asked him what the vet said and if there was anything they…

Okay Doodle Experts!
Is there a corralation between tail length and height? Charli's tail always seemed to be extra long for her height - she is 22 1/4" tall, her tail is 14" long, she weighs app 38 lbs and is only 6 months old. Anyone have a clue how tall she might be?
I really would like to know if anyone's Doodle had a 14" long tail and how tall did they grow?
these comments were on the picture on my… Continue

Today was day one of introducing Chianti's new food to her. She has been on Purina Puppy Chow since she came home from the breeder and I know what a bad food it is, but was having trouble deciding what dry food to switch her too. Well, I decided to go with Nature's Valley after reading what the smarties in The Food Group had to say (it was between that and Fromms, but I had a hard time finding that in my area). I picked up my first bag this morning, and added a 1/4 of a cup to her lunch time…

Abel is almost 6 months old. Where does the time go?
Last month he was in major tooth loss mode. I was begining to wonder if he would have any teeth left to chew with! In one week I think we found about 9 teeth. There was one day his breath smelt like blood and he was sulking around the house. Poor guy. Happy to say he now has a mouth full of new adult teeth!
I weighed him the other day. He is about 45 pounds. He also knows how to roll over and loves to go for runs off leash in the…
