Riley is accustomed to being locked up in his wire crate at night. Occassionally, I will just put him in his room and shut the door. It isn't too long before he is barking and putting up a fuss. He has to be put in his crate with door shut, before all is right with his world. Go figure!

Bella's shots are finished and her incision from her spaying is healed, so we all went to the dog park today for the first time. DH, Murphy, Bella and I walked over, about 1/2 mile or so, and as we got closer she started to notice all the dogs and got so excited. She decided to show everyone how big she was by barking at a huge mastif. He wasn't the least bit phased by her little white fluffy self.
We took her in on her leash, let her get a feel for all the new sights and smells and…

Every morning when the world gets up we have our routine. Wake up, bathroom, take the dogs out, rush the children, shuffle the husband, sling a cup of joe that's now cold. I always find that moment to play with the girls. Then I'm off again to be caught up in the routine of life. BUT at the same time every day, seems when I'm at my craziest moment, Zoe comes front in a perfect sit and stares at me with such a pleaful stare.
It makes me melancholy. It's a mom, I know you're getting…

I just got a sneak peak at the cover for the 2011 Maltese Rescue Calendar - the theme is "Puppies Born into Freedom". These are all my pictures and all the puppies were born in our home after their mothers were rescued, pregnant from deplorable conditions in puppy mills. We have had over twenty puppies born into our home this year and just had another born yesterday. We have placed all the pups, and most of the mothers, along with a couple of adult males into "furever homes". The total…

I just came back from U.S.Department of Homeland Security.
Today was my day to take a citizenship test!! I studied and listen to the CD of possible 100 questions in regard to US History, civic, geography, etc... I was pretty confident, but you know, was a bit nervous... You never know. The officer said that there are reading and writting portion to the test as well... What?! I didn't read that! I had no idea that I was going to be tested for that, too!! :-(
So, he tells me that…

Cash is beginning to bloom! And what surprises he has been for us!! He is still bonded to me more than anyone else in the family. Mater is taking Tom’s attitude of “I loved one foster and it was sad when he left so I’m going to try to not let myself get attached like that again!” But with a guy as gentle and sweet as Cash, I think they can’t help it.…
