The pups spent their first night in the pen last night and did just fine--all was well this morning. They are now walking around and playing whenever they aren't conked out. When I stand in the pen, they paw at my pants, bite my hem and sometimes fall asleep on my slippers. I got a few great new pictures today and wanted to share them with all of the puppies' fans. Some of the biggest fans will be here on Sunday when "Sugar donut" meets his new family--pictures to follow! …

Today is Izzie's second birthday. It has been two wonderful years with this happy girl who loves to run. She has such an outgoing silly personality and we laugh at something she does every day. I don't know what we would do without her. We hope to have many, many more years with her.
It is also about my second anniversary of my joining doodlekisses. I joined after learning we were expecting our first doodle. I have learned so much about food, training and everything related to…

I finally broke down and went through Sheba & Duke's stuffed animals, or should I say, I finally went through what was left of their stuffed animals. These old friends have been through hours of torture. They have suffered through beheadings, loss of limbs, gutted, de-squeaked, left in the yard exposed to the elements and dropped out of car windows. They have also been well loved. Sheba had her favorites and wouldn't destroy these favorite "babies" as we called them. (Duke really…

So I'm surfing, not hanging ten, but planting two on the couch and well I stumble across this. My first response is "Wow, I love it!" It's sleek, elegant and funky. Then, I'm thinking, would this actually work on a doodle. Zoe's hair is just about like this dog's and maybe if it grows out a bit more will work. If it looks horrid, her hair will grow back before the spring shows. But, [there's always a but] then I had way to many second thoughts........which always made me go back to if I…

When I was adding pictures today, I was struck by how much Vern has grown over the past year. Fudge used to tower over him, but not any more. Now she has to watch her P's and Q's.…

I have been home sick for 2 days and both Murphy and Bella are as calm and mellow as can be. They have been quietly laying next to me and not even bringing me toys to play with them as usual. WOuld they go out and catch balls if I went outside...oh I am sure of it. So I know they are just being quiet for my sake. So sweet. Had to share.

We have had a lot of snow lately and Fudge and Vern want to be out as much as possible. I am the least crafty person you will ever meet and I think my homemade gators prove this once again. Last night, the dogs came in with snow everywhere and we spent a long time getting all the snow off of them. So, today after the plows came through, I went to Target in the hopes to find some stretchy PJ's to make into snowsuits for the dogs. I found this idea on DK from some truly crafty members. When I…

We got another 18+ inches of snow in New Jersey. Check out this comparison of my foot and Porter's Clydesdale Snowball Paws. This morning three dogs and eight kids were going craaaazy in my backyard :-)…

I've got a little Houdini over here...
Going to have to grease the front doorknob.
Mulligan is just four months old and he's already gotten the front door open... on his first try!
He uses his little paws to turn the knob. Hopefully he just got lucky that one time! yeah right...
I'm in trouble with a capital T!
Caught in the Act!…

This year I've set some pretty lofty goals for myself and my family. One of them is that we've all agreed that we want to spend even more time outdoors We are a pretty "outdoorsy" family as it is. We camp , travel and hike when we can but now that we've added two doods to the family, we're ready to kick it up a notch.
I've actually been trying to get something started here at DK but I'm not having much luck. I think I'll email some of my HDA's here @DK and see what they…

In the early 1800's a man called John Gray, a gardener, arrived in Edinburgh with his wife and son looking for work. The weather was cold, however, and the ground was hard, so there were no gardening jobs available. He took what work he could find, and became a member of the Edinburgh Police Force - a Constable.
As a condition of his job, John Gray was required to have a dog. He bought a Skye Terrier and named him Bobby (Bobby was the nickname for Constables in the Police Force).…
