Terrors During TV Time - Lambs While I Surf the Net!

How is it that while Clark and I are trying to enjoy TV in the evening the doods put on a Wrestle-mania show that drowns out our speakers...but when I'm alone at the computer Rosco lies under the table and Boca collapses elsewhere and they are quiet little angels?

I wish he would play!

This is a photo of a web cam image at my favorite doggie day care.  There are always people with the dogs, it's clean and friendly, the dogs are temperment screened before they can join--just a great place.  Trav loves to go there, but I've watched him on the web cam and he just plays with the other dogs for a short time, then finds a vantage point and simply waits for me.  That's him on the table.  I wish he would play--that's why I take him there, so he can have some good socialization and…

My Valentine!

I had a little fun photographing Twinkletoes, the smaller black male in Lyric's litter--he is such a love, I think Romeo might be a better name. He was moving around like crazy but I managed to get three good shots. This should put you all in the mood for Valentine's Day!

Catching Moments

There have been many times in my life which there was no camera, no way to record the Moment that took my breathe away...

I've learned over time to catch the moments best I could with my senses.

With Kids there is no going back & I hope that story telling helps those moments live forever.

Moments Like....

Day before yesterday we had a rather Blustery COLD day for Tx & Brinkley actually pouted to be made to come in, but there was this one moment I…

The person who told us about this website.

The person who told us about this website is named Kathy and her labradoodles name  is Chaco. She is not on DK yet because she dosen't really know her way around the computer too much. We met them at the local park and let me say Choco is ball obsessed hahahahaha. They come on the website often to catch up on all the doodlekisses activity. Here is a picture of Chaco: … Continue

Big boys at play- and getting rough!

I made another video yesterday, but i will try again in the near future when (if?) there is some sunshine coming in--it was a bit dark in the room. But the pups were all playing and having fun and I thought I would update everyone on their growth. They have changed so much and are so capable now. It is so funny to see tiny pups doing "big dog" things. Sometimes, they try to sit up or scratch and just fall over!

They are also eating with Lyric standing up. I got some cute mom/pup pics…

So glad I went to California to visit my Daddy!

On my way home from work tonight I got a call from my sister.  Funny how I knew what that call was for.   My Daddy had just died.   He was 93 in July, lived an absolutely wonderful life.  He was a great Daddy to all of his kids (blood and chosen - I was chosen when he married my mom when I was 11).  He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell.  He worked with his hands his whole life...he was a cabinet maker.  The last thing he made was a china hutch for my nephew...this past…

Shepadoodle Q & A

I've noticed that there are a lot of questions about ShepaDoodles.

Since the community of ShepaDoodle owners is small still I wanted to share this for future Googlers.

  • Q- I have never heard of Brinkleys breed.

A- ShepaDoodles also sometimes called German Doodles is a Doodle hybrid of German Shepherd with…

A New Doodle!

I just thought that I would share that a good friend of mine and his wife went out and got a little puppy golden doodle from Burkehardt Kennels here in Canada, and where we got Neely from! He is adorable and very smart. His name is Harley, daddy is a bike guy! He was born the first week of November and he comes really well, sits and lays down already. Potty training is going well with the use of the crate. They also have two other old spaniels. He is fatter than Neely with redder ears and…

Looking at Buying a Yard for Choodle

DK friends:  the time is here, the time is now, DH and I are officially on the house hunt, aka "yard hunt for choodle" (chihuahua+doodle)!  Yay, I thought the time would never come.  We are so ready to leave our condo.  It has been a great place to live but I yearn for the day to open the back door and let the dogs run out and play!

The humorous part of our househunt is our priority list.  Seriously, this is what I told our realtor:

1. 3+ bedrooms

Duncan "shag".....

So Duncan usually gets a haircut and bath at the groomer every 5-6 weeks. He's got lots of thick coarse fur that would be a matted mess if we let it grow too long. But 7 weeks have gone by because his groomer is opening her own "pooch parlor" and it won't be open until tomorrow. (we have the 1st appointment). I love how he looks when he has all this shag. So I took lots of pics yesterday. Because tomorrow he'll be without it. He was such a sport. Allowing me to take pics of him with such a…

Darwin's New Favorite Movie...

Darwin has always enjoyed watching t.v., to some extent. He will perk up when he sees dogs, or hears high pitched singing, etc. During things like a dog show, he will watch for a few minutes at a time. But he has a new favorite show, one that he will sit and watch the whole scene for, ears perked. I've even seen some head tilting action. :-)

It's "2001: A Space Odyssey" the first scene where the apes are evolving... LOL. I know, totally random. But he seems to enjoy it a lot. I have…

Cooper is getting a brother!!!!!

Ok..... so Coopers brother isnt a doodle. Its a kitty!

When we got Cooper I already had 2 cats. They are now 7 (Cooper is 1 year 9 months) and right from the start Cooper has ADORED them. Even Merry who isnt interested. Pippin will walk around and Cooper will follow. Pippin will weave in between Coopers legs and Cooper will give her a lick on the head. They will occasionally snuggle. Even Merry will now sleep on the same bed or futon as Cooper.

But, my cats…

Rua's First Grooming - Updated

I have mixed emotions...she looked so stinkin' cute with her shaggy hair look and she looks so stinkin' cute with her velvet soft hair.  It really is weird...depending on which way the light hits her, she is either REALLY dark or REALLy light.

Take a look at her!

Tribute to my dad....I miss him.

It’s hard to believe that my dad has been gone for 20 years. So many of my memories of him are as clear as if they happened yesterday. Let me tell you just a little bit about what a great man he was.

He was a quiet man, but when he did speak, what he said was either profoundly wise, hilariously funny or he wanted to talk about you.

He was extremely humble. He would graciously accept a compliment but would almost always try to give the credit to someone else.

He… Continue

Wishing for a chemo buddy

I start chemo today for leukemia. I am blessed with a great family and wonderful friends that have all rallied around me. However, I really wish I could bring Achilles with me. He would not be a problem. Ok so he might want to great everyone there (who doesn't want a big doodle kiss?) He hardly ever barks and basically would be glued to my side. So what's the prob. They should make a place where you could go with your pets if they were a great comfort. Maybe we could collectively make that… Continue

My Daughter, the Adventurer

I am taking a moment to brag about my daughter. She just returned safely from a trip to Muscat, Oman (borders Saudi Arabia). She was there for three weeks, traveled the entire way by herself, and had an incredible time. When she told us she was going to Oman, I have to admit I was so worried. She got her PhD in Special Education in July and wants to travel the world. She was able to combine both by taking a temporary position to help teachers in Oman set up an inclusive school. Within one…

Philosophy for Aging

I found this on the computer at work the other day and not only is it beautiful it is certainly a philosophy to live by. I hope the file opens for you and that you enjoy it as much as I did. To those of us who fessed up to our age last night in Yappy Hour, this is  for you from me. To those of you in the Photograpy group, something for us to aspire to.  Enjoy.Philosophy_For_Old_Age.pps
