We go to pick up Dustin (our goldendoodle puppy) tomorrow after I get out of school so tonight will be Fenway's last night as an only doodle. She is a spoiled little princess and gets tons and tons of attention all of the time, but we've really been laying it on thick this week and she's been eating it up. Lee, my DH, is conviced that she is going to pack her bags and leave once she figures out that Dustin is staying for good and not here for just a visit. He thinks she likes being an only dog.…

Once upon a time Sam discovered he liked to catch lights and reflections. HIs Doodle Dad and he had a great time. Chasing, running and leaping his 86#'s all over the house. He cannot figure out why he cannot catch it, oh how he wants to retrieve it. When the sun shines in the window and leaves its light on the ceiling or floor Sam barks and cries at it, untill we say enough and have him lay down. Sam wants to know if anyone else likes to do this? Jaeger could care less and I think he thinks Sam…

Rusty's last night of puppy obedience was last night and he PASSED!! We filled out the paperwork for him to get his AKC S.T.A.R puppy certificate. Evidently, once I send in the paperwork he'll get an official certificate, a medallion and a magazine. Pretty cool! I've listed the things from the AKC site that we had to do in order to pass. Rusty LOVES obedience class so we've already signed up for the next class. YEAH RUSTY!

So I am so obviously addicted to DK and to my doodle. So addicted, in fact, that I have let housework and chores fall behind in order to spend more time with Lizzie and getting all of the updates on DK. Laundry has piled up (except for the necessities), dust has coated the furniture, dishes were dirty, and nothing has been ironed for a while. (Adina, It's all your fault!!) Haha!
This addiction was very evident today by the fact that my 4 month-old puppy had never met my vacuum cleaner!!…

I need to mention what happened last night while I was blogging.
Phoebe managed to abscond with three small bananas I had picked up from the market on the way home last night. She watched me place them on the counter. When I was out of site, she took them to her bed, consuming two and the skin of one. (I’m not sure, but I only found one peel.) Adorable, right?
I had a little anxiety going to work this morning. I did not sleep. Jess was given a sleep aide and managed to sleep on…

I'm an interloper of sorts. I don't own a Doodle I'm just a friend to one. A popular one, though, Benny of BL Ochman fame. I have a Springer Spaniel and I won't mess up the fun Doodle pix with Torry, even though she smilies and reads.
Just a note to say what a wonderful group that shares their love of their pets with each other. Thanks for letting me hang.
See ya Benny!

Once upon a time there was a dog named Toby who wouldn't play fetch. His Mommy bought him Kong tennis balls, with a lovely squeaker inside, and he didn't care. His Mommy bought plain tennis balls, and he didn't care. He enjoyed sticks, so his Mommy thought, "Aha! I will throw a stick for Toby. He will chase it, and we will play fetch!" But alas, Mommy threw the stick, and Toby watched it sail through the air and hit the ground, then jumped with muddy paws on his Mommy. Mommy threw leaves into…

What a lovely dog Lucy has turned out to be!!!!
Her latest passion - tennis balls. We have them in every color, some squeak some don't. She stands beside the couch every morning and whines until the one of us who has had the first cup of coffee gets the broom and rounds up anywhere from 4 to 8 tennis balls from under the couch. She is still excavating the back yard. We are waiting patiently for that gusher that will rescue us from the 401k losses.
Language-- Lucy is learning new…

1. Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?
2. Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.
3. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!
4. Rottweiler: Make me.
5. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.
6. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change…

When I arrived this morning I heard Jess say “All I want is a teaspoon of tapioca pudding.”
Yes, he did not pass the swallow test again. When you have ventilator tubes down your throat for four weeks things do not get back to normal real fast. His vocal chords are not collapsing properly, causing the fluids and food to go into his lungs. We have worked so many weeks in clearing them, this is not something we wish to screw up.
Today Jess seems to be more at the acceptance…

Decided I was tired of looking at our home page so I am attempting to jazz it up a bit. It's not like I don't have the time, this shoulder recovery is a slow process. Where did everyone go to get their templates? I also added a picture of us, not as cute as a doodle but I thought it was cuter then the silhouette. :-) Tweaking our home page keeps me from shopping for our doodle baby. We will be moving before the puppy arrives and I don't want to have to move the puppy's stuff so I am trying to…

Amongst the boxes, paper, boxes and more boxes the dogs & peopls are happily settling in. Yesterday DH took the dogs to the beach to run and play. Sam is used to going to the beach in the summer and is very water crazy. DH said that Sam went running to water, got his feet wet and ran back out. Brrrrr it is still toooo cold. Wish I had it on video. But I can just imagine the look on DD face. Any DDs looking for beach bums this summer let us know. We love to play in the water. Think NO MORE…

Tonight marks the five week anniversary of Jesse’s AirVac arrival to Mayo. As his sedation leaves his system he has become more and more aware of the life he has in the CCU. When I arrived, he was down, and he stayed that way for nearly my entire ten hour visit.
Jess began his morning with a swallow test. He was allowed a teaspoon of tapioca pudding – which her reported tasted like “heaven.” His voice is not back and they are afraid of vocal chord damage. Jess had a test and will be…

We searched through all the groups today & didn't find one for puppies frm Manor Lake Australian Labradoodles so we created one. Within a few minutes of it's creation Kelly & Cole, who got their adorable puppy Marley from Manor Lake joined the group! Our puppy will be a half brother or sister to Marley, they both have the same sire, Kingston. We were excited about our puppy before, but seeing Marley and all of the adorable pictures of her is like looking at the future. We can't wait!!!

Okay, that is what Phoebe seems like to me these days anyway. This puppy will gnaw on anything wood like my kitchen chairs or, my personal favorite, the decorative inlaid molding around our island in the kitchen. I have tried 'trading' her a favorite toy or treat to stop gnawing...she takes the bait and then returns to her passion a second later. We have tried bitter apple which she loves and now Tabasco which she licked off the gate excitedly. I have plopped her in her ex-pen to calm down and…

Success! Herbie has random fears of a lot of things, so I was unsure of how his first swim was going to go, I thought it might take so coaxing, but nope. We went to the beach today and I thought the water might still be too cold so we were just gonna play frisbee on the sand, but he jumped right in! It was so much fun and I'm looking forward to summer even more now that I know he loooooves the water.…
