Does anyone know of any breeders in NC or SC?

Hello. I was just wondering if there was anyone from Illinois that has a goldendoodle. If so. Where did you get your goldendoodle? Thanks

Today we had trick or treating. I was a bit concerned about the costumes and groups of kids mobbing the door, but we had an amazing afternoon! Sophie barked at the sight of the first goblins but quieted quickly upon "NO!" After that first greeting from the kids and getting lots of 'what a cute puppy' comments she anxiously awaited more goblins. I didn't need to hear a doorbell as her tail would begin thumping to signal visitors. It was such an adorable sight. I had her leashed to the banister…

Added note, you do not have to buy the cookbook to have your pictures, poems, recipes etc. considered and included!
I am compiling a celebration of dog pictures, homemade recipes for your dogs treats as well as favorite people recipes to go in the new cookbook my standard poodle Arlis and I are penning together. Arlis, naturally lacking opposable thumbs, has come to rely on me to do all the grunt work such as typing,…

Yesterday we checked out Black Hill Regional Park...
Isn't this the happiest chihuahua you've ever seen?!
Since we're both originally from Florida, Chloe never really experienced a BIG pile of leaves. We came across this little patch of grass under a tree with TONS of fallen leaves, and well,…

I always felt bad when I had to go to work and leave Chiko at home all day by himself. I was always rushing home so that I wouldn't leave him for too long. He is such a people dog and loves to have company. So we thought another dog would be good for him and us (one each to cuddle on the lounge). I absolutely love that we have TWO Labradoodles. We have had Lacey now for nearly 4 weeks and they are getting along so well. They just love each other.…

Sure... she knows to Sit, Stay and Come
Also Down, Rollover and Speak
She even knows to Catch, Back-up and High Fives
She knows when I am sad or need a kiss and hug
All the cool emotional things that doodles just know
Sometimes I swear she even knows what time it is
So, In turn I feed her good food
Take her swimming at the lake
Go for long walks with her
Play fetch with her til I'm bored to death
I bring her with me for car rides
And…

Seattle has lost its best and most outspoken dog trainer. Larry Babb sadly died from complications of lung cancer yesterday. For us and many other local dog owners and dog lovers, Larry’s passing means the end to an era of obedience classes at
Pawsabilities. We take comfort in knowing that Larry’s booming voice will forever echo inside the indoor training center in Tukwila, and no human or dog who ever sat their feet or paws inside will forget Larry’s…

Each year I probably find or see a total of 10-12 dogs running around without an owner. Last year I spotted a huge dog who I thought I knew and without a second thought hopped out the door in a pair of Clark's boxer shorts and a tee shirt to lure him into my yard. It was Xander, my friend's Leonberger who'd wandered out of his yard a couple blocks down the road.
I have animal control on speed dial.
I've ran out in my pj's across the street when I spotted a dog racing back…

What is UP with all those strange decorations in people’s yards??? I cannot figure them out! Today, my brother tried to pee on a gravestone, but just as he was getting ready, this really scary sound came on, and made him pee all over on himself instead. And I saw a big hairy witch, who wanted to chase me; she had red eyes and looked really mean. Kind of like our neighbor; the one who yells at us every time we pass her house. She says we destroy her lawn, but it’s not true. We NEVER dig in her…

Like any good parent, I decided Lucy and I needed training. I was absolutely sure that she would be the star of the class. After all, wasn't she smarter than any other dog that I know?
Well, so much for great plans. If you have read any of my blogs, you know that Lucy is a water dish diver. The trainer had a play time for the dogs in the class to get them aquainted, and get them calmed down. The owners had to leave the room and watch from outside.
Lucy is beside herself with joy. She…

Holly, our Goldendoodle pup, is used to the freedom of a very large yard. We have over an acre fenced with chain link. She loves the yard and it gives her the freedom to run.
We were a bit apprehensive about taking Holly with us on a ten day trip from Southern California to Utah because we didn't know how she would act in a 33 foot motor home. However, we were determined to bring her with us and crossed our fingers in the hope that our 60 pound, 9 month old Doodle would not be a…

Housesoiling is a spatial problem, involving perfectly normal, natural, and necessary canine behaviors (peeing and pooping) performed in inappropriate places.
Housetraining is quickly and easily accomplished by praising your puppy and offering a food treat when she eliminates in an appropriate toilet area. Once your pup realizes that her eliminatory products are the equivalent of coins in a food vending machine — that feces and urine may be cashed in for tasty treats — your pup will…

Chew carpets, curtains, cushions, couches, clothes, chair legs, children's toys, electrical cords, and computer disks. Play-bite (or mouth) human hands, arms, legs, and ankles. Play tug o' war with trousers, skirts, and shoe laces.
Surf kitchen counters. Empty cupboards. Lick butter from the refrigerator. Trash the trash.
Dig in the yard for escape or enjoyment. (Certainly a dog can dig while holding a chewtoy in his jaws, but if really working on his chewtoy he will have little time…

Puppies are naturally noisy and hyperactive. Puppies are exuberant when greeting, playing, and when expressing friendliness and appeasement. However, adult dogs are noisy and hyperactive because they are untrained and have unintentionally been encouraged to act that way. For example, eagerly jumping puppies are petted by people, who later get angry when the dog jumps up as an adult. The dog's only crime? It grew!
Sadly, adult dogs receive considerable abuse for expressing their…

Housesoiling is a spatial problem. Your puppydog has been allowed to eliminate in the wrong place. Housesoiling quickly becomes a bad habit because dogs develop strong location, substrate, and olfactory preferences for their improvised indoor toilet areas. To housetrain your puppydog: first, prevent any more mistakes; and second, teach your puppydog where you would like him to eliminate.
Prevent Mistakes
Mistakes are a disaster since they set a bad precedent and create bad…
