Our Butterfly Adventure

On Monday DH and I visited a Butterfly "farm" in Massachusetts.  Our DS is away at camp for two weeks, and so I'm arranging some day trips to places he would never be caught dead in.  DH was being a really good sport about coming with me, although I'm sure it ranked right up there with dental surgery for him.  To add insult to injury we had to go right by "Yankee Candle Village" to get there, so yes I did convince him that we needed to stop here.  Room after room filled with candles, dishes,…

Country Dog

Little Milt tried to dig a hole to China.  I think he actually just piggybacked on a woodchuck's hard work and stole all the credit.

"I'M SO EXCITED...

…AND I JUST CAN’T HIDE IT – I’M ABOUT TO LOSE CONTROL AND I THINK I LIKE IT!” (“I’m singing” – an old Pointer Sister’s classic)…

The coolest thing happened a few months ago, so naturally I want to share…

Goldendoodle Romps

Living in a small apartment in Dallas does not leave poor Milton with much room to play.  Whenever we take him outside, it is more of a "Hurry up and go" situation rather than a "Relax and frolic."  As Jeff pointed out to me, Milton needs more time to just be a puppy - sniffing around, chewing on a stick, running aimlessly, lying in the grass, etc.  …

My Mother and the Neil Diamond Concert!!

The Neil Diamond concert was on July 1 in Cleveland, OH.  My mom was going to get there come hell or high water.  Every member of her family knew she was going and even her heart Doctor had asked her to take pictures and bring them with her at the next appointment.  Four days before she was due to leave, she went to Bridge Club and I am beginning to have my suspicions about what goes on there, and came home and propped her legs up, only to see that they were swollen to double the size. …

New Car & Nursery Pics

Well, Peri and Taquito have been experiencing quite a few changes over the past few months.  Taquito can no longer comfortably lie on my belly as my bump is getting quite large!  I am over 6 months pregnant now and have less than 3 months to go until we meet our little girl.

We have been working on the nursery.  Peri and Taquito enjoy hanging out in there.  This morning, I found Peri lying on the rug with her toy, just hanging out.  I am glad they feel comfortable in there. …

Veterinary Tech Interview

Hello All!

I've enjoyed my time looking through photos and reading stories on Doodlekisses. My Fiancé and I plan on getting a Goldendoodle once we move into a home (can't wait for the extra space!). But until then, I have learned quite a bit about the breed and love hearing about everyone's dogs!

We've recently moved for my Fiance's job. I've been at a stand still in my job hunt- trying to figure out what I want to take on as a new career. Well, I think I may have…

Milton the Goldendoodle Visits the Vet

Since Milt joined our little family on June 1st, he has visited the veterinarian twice.  I was not available to attend either visit, so yesterday was finally my turn, and I was intent on documenting the experience in film.…

Rango doesn't Rattle

I didn't believe it the first time around at New Years, so I tested it again on the 4th of July. Fireworks do not bother Rango. I feel so lucky. He is just happy to be where ever his humans are.

Puppy Photo of the Week

Curious, little puppies like to investigate everything.  Milton found the dishwasher to be quite interesting.  He thought he would pre-lick the dishes just in case the dishwasher misses something.…

Getting Older and Losing Andy Griffith!!

This past week Andy Griffith died and I loved Andy Griffith.  Of course, I didn’t know him personally, but he has been in my home for years.  I was introduced to him as Sheriff Andy Taylor and I thought Mayberry, North Carolina, seemed like just about the best place in the world to grow up.  Sometimes, when they are running the Andy Griffith marathon on TV, I kid my husband about watching episode after episode, but I find myself listening for that whistle that starts the show and checking…

Sharing the Fourth of July brisket with Holly and the Maltese...

Holly is four and a half years old and we have had her with us since she was seven and a half weeks old.  She has never counter surfed until this Fourth of July when I left a brisket close to the edge of the kitchen counter.  Judy had given Holly a taste of the roast and that was too tempting.   I guess the saying "Where's the beef?" goes for Holly as well as the little lady on the old commercials for Wendy's

Holly retrieved it and shared part of it with her Maltese friends. …

Darwin Loved The 4th!

Just another little update on Darwin. We've been taking him out often with treats and training practice around the apartment and surrounding areas. Hopefully he can start feeling more comfortable, I feel terrible knowing that he's been anxious. It must be very disorienting for him, having us pick up and move, total change of family presence, not to mention that we are still driving back and forth between the two homes once a week (a two hour drive that he doesn't love). So we are going to…

BITTERSWEET...

HI everyone, it's been awhile. Lots going on and no time to keep up. So I was off work quite awhile before finding a new job, lots of doodle time, extra yard play, walks and potty breaks. Then it happened...I got a job at a hospital and had 2 weeks before I actually started. I spent a lot of that time snuggling with my girls, they were used to having me around all day and then all of a sudden they are alone all day long. I leave in the morning and I see Chloe poke her head out the blinds…

Lacey's first 4th of July with us.

This was Lacey's first 4th of July with us and I was not sure how she would react.  She is so scared of everything that I feared the worst.  I didn't know if she would panic in the house or not (I definitely knew I was not going to let her outside during the "action").  We did not attended either of the fireworks shows that take place near us this year because I was too tired from a 10k race in the morning.  It was an early bedtime for me so I was laying in bed when the first boom sounded…

Traveler turns the tables!

Grendel, my daughter’s dog, spends about half his time with us.  During this last visit, Gren has asserted his domination over Trav and has enjoyed charging or giving a few big barks and sending Trav scurrying for his ‘safety’ spots.  Trav can hide behind a table in the living room…

LEO AND THE FOURTH OF JULY

The boys and I hope you had a fun, safe, and relaxing “mid-week” 4th of July  holiday.

A very special “thank you” to the many people who emailed us after reading “Leo and the Storm” with words of encouragement and suggestions about how to handle the upcoming holiday…
