Just the Recipies

If you would, please just recipies, no discussions in the recipe pages. If we get enough, maybe we could make up our own DoodleKisses Cookbook. We are teamed up with The Food Group. Join there for discussion.

Thank you, Karen, I was hoping you would know.  I needed to find a preservative

for the cookies I have been making, they seem to get tiny specks of mold on them even in the refrigerator after several days. I thought salt would be the answer and I only use 1/2 tsp at most in the recipe.

All those spices are ok.  Cinnamon has good anti-inflamatory properties.

I know that salt is safe in small amounts, and ginger is fine.

Here is a question; are ingredients for dog treats that include spices such as

cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger as well as baking soda and/or salt safe?   Not in large amounts, under 1/2 teaspoon for the spices, 1/4 teaspoon for the salt and/or baking soda?   This would be along with  a minimum of 2 1/2 cups flour.....Any info appreciated.

Raisins are toxic to dogs and it is commented upon whenever and if ever it is called for. The recipe is from years ago and I do not favor deleting it but educating. You cannot comment in a threaded fashion on the comment wall. There is a comment right above telling about the raisins.

on page 4 the recipe 'Moonstruck Muffins' calls for raisins!!!

it needs to be deleted if the raisins can't be deleted from the recipe. I tried to comment under it but you can't.

My fav recipe is on this page Adrianne http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/treats-1?groupUrl=dkcookbo... - along with many other good looking recipes.  I substitute an equal amount of peanut butter for half the margerine called for. You can roll it out on the thin side and use a pizza cutter to make longer strips.

Did you try cutting down on the liquid ingredients and adding more of the dry? Or add some plain oatmeal to lessen the moisture and bind better.

I have been trying to find a cookie recipe to make my own large size milk bone biscuits, I have a great recipe but even over baking them, they are too too soft. Anyone have an idea or a recipe I can try? They get 1 a day for our bedtime ritual but the MB have 125 of lousy calories.

Tammie, Thank You!  I just made a batch of dog cookies and automatically went for the olive oil.  Was wondering if they needed to be thrown out!   Guess

my pups will get them after all!
