Gidget had her 12 week appt today! Everything went beautifully! She's now 11 1/2 lbs! Woo!

8 weeks: 6 lbs. 14 oz.
9 weeks: 7 lbs. 13 oz.
10 weeks: 9 lbs.
12 weeks: 11 1/2 lbs

Well, this is my 4th groomer. I hope I have finally found the one. She works out of her home and lives within a 10 minute drive. I dropped Yankee off at 9am and he did have some mats. I had most of them out Wed night but yesterday he went swimming in the pool. Not good.

She brought me inside and showed me her grooming area. She has 3 dogs (one is a rescue) and a cat. She also has 5 foster kittens. Obviously an animal lover so that's a good sign. Her grooming room looked great. She… Continue

Lady Peri's First Day at Doggy Daycare!

So, DH and I decided to try out doggy daycare today. Peri has started crying when I leave room (even if DH is with her), so I was a little worried about her first day at camp. No worries - she ran around and wanted straight in the playroom. I called her name and she didn't want to even look at me! 17 weeks old, and 9 weeks in!

I've posted this week's blog a little later than usual because I enrolled Penny in puppy training classes at Pet Smart, 4.30pm Wednesday, and was hoping to report on that this week, but it kinda didn't work out. Front Page Chocolates

I have never seen such beautiful doodles, that is other than the ones I already have, ha! Hunter is tan and Ziggy is a black doodle . . . now I would love to have a chocolate doodle. Doodles are the best dogs in the world. Does anyone know where I can get a chocolate? I love large dogs - mine both weigh 64 pounds. I live in Indiana.

Mickey is starting to guard us...how do I stop it now??

On our last walk of the night, yesterday, Mickey, the flashlight, and I where on our street. A couple around my age were walking by us. They stopped to say Hello, and say how beautiful Mickey was. We chatted for a few minutes about Mickey, where they lived etc. Mickey was a little timid about stopping but we are trying to accumulate him to the world. We try not to coddle him with reassurance. Samantha Did It!!

Last week Samantha passed her CGC and tonight she passed her Bright & Beautiful test!!
Always knew she was a smart Doodle but dual degrees! Now she wants to study for her
Masters! She isn't sure exactly what she wants to study yet but the world is at her paws!

Congrats to Dana & Mac - they passed both also!!
Also, our new friend (but not a Doodle), Nancy & Barnaby passed both tests also!

Remington Post Surgery!

Well everyone, Remington got alone just fine with his neutering. He was a happy camper to come home and be with us after a long day at the vet. He was a little bit sleepy and definitely not his usual self, but he did well and the surgery went smoothly. He is eating and drinking just fine and already having regular bowel movements which is all good signs :) He didn't sleep very well last night and kept getting up and laying down like every hour, but all together we are very pleased with how he… Continue

I want another Doodle!

Ok, I don't even have my first doodle yet, (9-4-2009 I will), and I ALREADY want another one! For my second doodle, I want a "red" or "caramel" doodle. I guess a caramel is just a red with a pink/brown nose. Please correct me if I'm wrong!! And for size, min-to-medium. I'm already starting a "special" savings account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kai is four months old!

Kai has been home with us now for eight weeks. He has grown so much! When he arrived he was 6 pounds today he is 16! It's been a busy time here. He has gone kayaking, swimming, hiking and walking on the strand.

Now that he is four months old we have added the dog park and doggie day care to his list of things to do.

Nervous First Time Mommy!

So today was the big day... Remington Bear's neutering....

Remington woke up around 5 this morning... wanting his mom of course... so I let him jump up on the bed and cuddle with me for the next hour and a half... I wouldn't usually do this, but this morning was different... my little boy was having surgery... his first!!

Are Doodles Real Difficult to Train?

Yesterday I went shopping for a class in advanced training for Spud. We also needed dog food. I called a business I had used 15 years ago. After asking just a few questions the bored lady said, " Just go to my website it will answer any of your questions." Have You Seen my Squeaker?

Since he's de-legged and decapitated the last of two rubber pigs (after 2 years so that's still pretty good!) and his beloved little Wal Mart latex squeaker is circling the drain (intact but getting a bit grimy and thin)...I thought it was time for Rosco to have a brand new noisy toy.

Back to work

Angel was none-too-happy with me today. Today was my first day back to work since getting Angel exactly 2 months ago.

Laurel and Hardy AKA Harry and Ella

Long time since I last wrote. Our summer highlight was a trip "Up North" Wisconsin. We rented two cabins on a lake, grown-up children flew in. I was worried that Ella and Harry would run away with all the smells in the woods luring them. Everyone helped keep eyes on them and they never wandered far. Ella was a natural swimmer and loved retrieving sticks thrown in the water. She would gracefully swim back with no splashing.
