Vern is watching the Grammys with me, while Fudge snoozes beside us. Fudge goes to bed early, so she misses a lot of shows at night. So far, Vern does not like Mick Jagger. I thought this was a cute illustration of training 'sit.'  The pup is is a mini Australian Shepherd and the hand is my granddaughter's.

Today I was so happy to be able to help the DRC (Doodle Rescue Collective) in helping transport a labradoodle named Barley to his foster family.

The morning started out going to Barley's owner's home.  She was such a wonderful lady who rescued Barley from a high kill shelter in MidTN area.  She had him for about 3 months, but she broke her knee and between rehab, etc...she just couldn't keep him.  She was so upset and it really hurt my heart as I loaded up all of his things…

Haven't spent much time on DK lately...have been either traveling or sick.  Please accept my belated thanks for all of the birthday wishes and condolences on the passing of my Daddy.  They were greatly appreciated.

I've read so many stories of doodles and disastrous groomers here on DoodleKisses. Today I am adding my experience. 

I'm a little livid. I'm going to have to learn to clip my doodle. I took him to our groomer today. The first time we went, it cost $65. The second we went to this shop they had hired a new groomer who was supposed to do "show-quality" clipping. It cost $90, but he looked gorgeous. This time, the groomer ran her hands through his coat and said he definitely had…

Now I know not everyone likes snow but I happen to be one of those that do. Some however seem to have had enough. This is a sign  outside of a church in town. Glad someone has a sense of humor.

2011 has been keeping us busy -- new baby Nov 2010, someone hacked my paypal causing a lot of frustration and confusion, two back surgeries for me and a kidney infection, my best friend of 20 years lost her Dad to cancer at the young age of 57, my husbands Mom has been diagnosed with MS... *takes a deep breath*  Yea, it's been a busy time for us, 4 kids and our 2 dogs.   My puppies are desperately needing a good grooming - we had 2 weeks of snow and mud…

Dagny has been growing like a weed. She had a quick trip into the vet today so she could be weighed. We have been buying her heartgard medication one month at a time since she has been growing so quick. She has now reached the 50 pound mark and for the first time we were able to buy a 6 month supply. It has been amazing to watch her grow and now I'm wondering just how big she will get to be. The breeder said that puppies from past litters of the same two parent dogs average between 60 and 65…

Lyric's puppies continue to thrive and grow--they are getting more coordinated every day and they seem so excited when they can do something new. 

Since all the pups are almost 6 weeks now and growing up so fast, I decided to try to do some individual portraits of them sitting up like big boys. Here are a few--the one of Twink has already been posted, but I will include it here.
