NED AND CLANCY MEET CAMUS (FORMERLY KNOWN AS WOODY)

Ned and Clancy met Camus at a romp in Encinitas, California today. Ned and Clancy had some advice for Camus. "Enjoy your new home and be a good boy." Camus said, " You betcha! I am lovin' life now. My new mom is the best."

Here is a link to pictures:

What was I thinking????

Well, several days ago I finally, with much self talk and encouragement from DK got up the courage to try giving Tara a scissor cut. What I had not factored in accurately was Tara's tolerance level for being "messed with" and my excruciatingly slow methodology. Bad combo!

So here we are 4 days later. The first day I was able to get the top of her head cut. That was IT! Next day, under ears and down to collar level. Done. Third day I worked down her back about 1/3 of the way…

Many of us are not ashamed to stand up and say" My Name is ________ and I'm a doodle addict, however there are some side effects of being addicted to doodles and DK. Some are good, some not so much. I'll start with the good ones first.

I learn tons of stuff that is necessary to be a good doodle mom

I get to meet and chat with lots of new friends.

I get to share and feel good about all the doodles in need that find their forever families because of DK.

I get lots…

Now this is more like it!!

Yeah. After all the training, worrying, and early mornings, late nights. After all the no's , good girls, walk nicely, pennies in a mini diet pepsi can to stave off barking, barking, barking . . . Sheila finally "gets it" and has turned into the cute, wonderful dog I was always reading about on YOUR blogs. Not that we didn't always love her, we did, to pieces, but life is just so much nicer now that Sheila knows the rules (mostly) and we have our routines down pat. Man, for awhile there I… Continue

Pet-Friendly Motel Conspiracy Theory

Why is it that every time, that's EVERY time!, I have stayed in a motel with my dogs, past and present, I am given a room at the bottom of a flight of stairs? Does the motel management want my dogs to be obnoxious? Do they want me to get no sleep? Do they think I like hearing all the conversations as people carry their many loads of luggage up and down the stairs? Do they think I like getting to hear everyone's footsteps as they travel above my head to their various rooms?

It was… Continue

Peri's new obsession

Some of you have heard me say that Peri will tear through every toy imaginable, aside from Zogoflex toys:

I have been meaning to post this - Peri has a new toy obsession....the Planet Dog Orbo w/ Treat Spot:

We put Sojos treats in them and they are hard for her to get out - she…

Darwin Meets A Bunny

We went over to my friend's house a week ago or so, and she introduced Darwin to Poe, her adorable little bunny. To be honest, I wasn't sure how Darwin would react so I sat right next to him as he approached the cage. His reaction was so cute! He sat and stared right at that bunny, wagging his tail. No barking, nervousness, or pawing the cage. Just watching it. He sat there for about 30 minutes. He would occasionally run over to us then run back to the cage (this is his way of trying to get us… Continue

Yes! I Am Addicted

Well, they say the first step in 'curing' your addiction is to admit it. So, here goes.... yes ~ I admit it... I am truly addicted to Doodle Kisses! Last week when I joined our "Facebook" page, and went back to see exactly what the date was that I joined, I was amazed to see that it hasn't even been a year yet! I don't think I ever learned so much information, or made so many 'friends' in less than a year in my entire life! And today, when I checked in on my… Continue

A bad dream...

I had a bad dream during the early hours of this morning...

I dreamed that I opened the door, and Koda bolted, he leaped over the wall and plunged 9 storeys to his death! I was histerical, sobbing and begging my DH to rush him to the emergency clinic so that the doctor could fix him up and make him well again :(

I woke up from my dream, sobbing! DH comforted me...

Zooey brought her binky (or rather Koda's new birthday binky toy) up to the bed and…

Coco Chanel has a new forever family.

I have been holding off posting this but then I saw that Coco is showing adopted on Petfinder. And it is true, she has a wonderful forever family that is driving from upstate New York to Atlanta to pick her up. They will be here next week. Coco will have both a doggie sister and brother. She will be able to romp and play with them on 3 acres filled with lots of good smells.

Coco's new family says that their other dogs ration their kisses so they are excited that Coco…

Today Is National Dog Day!

Yes, today is a special day for all of our dogs. Guinness and Murphy are planning to milk this for all it's worth. They're saying...remember Mothers' Day when you got all that special attention, Mom - well, today it's our turn! They have compiled the following list of things they would like in celebration of "their day". Check with your Doodles and add to the list..

-Treats every hour, regardless of how we are behaving....and no "fresh veggies". They aren't "real" treats.

-A… Continue

Foster Dog Blog - #2

What a week it was! Monday the 16th was bonding day for Tom, Mater and Gus. When I went to work, they went to the park and then played in the yard. Gus sticks close to Tom and Mater admits to being a little jealous. The Humane Society said that Gus wasn't interested in balls, but Tom have found differently! Mater loves to leap high in the air to catch a ball, but Gus loves it even more!…

Coco knee injury update.

Great news on Coco's injured knee. She is doing much much better. She is able to put more weight on her leg every day. She is feeling so much better that she jumped up on my bed for the first time since her injury. When I first walked into my room I just noticed a doodle laying on the bed. I really didn't take in which doodle was it was until Harlow pushed her head in my hand for a scratch. That is when I realized it was Coco in the bed. She was so proud of herself and excited that she could…

Darwin And Duck Don't Mix!

We decided to change things up and by the Duck and Oatmeal formula of the brand we buy. Just to keep things interesting for Darwin. He's done well on every other formula we've tried, so we weren't worried. Well, for the past week or so he's had horrible gas, bad diarrhea, and nasty breath. We haven't switched treats at all so I can only guess it's his food. Poor Darwin is kind of miserable and I'm sick of the gas (actually EVERYONE is sick of the gas), so we decided not to use the rest of the… Continue

My Foster Dog Blog - #1

It was early Sunday the 15th that we got a call for Liz at DRC about a rescue in Terre Haute, about an hour and a half away. I checked with Tom, called her back, and we left within the hour.

We picked up "Butch" at the Terre Haute Humane Society on Sunday. He wiggled and squirreled all over the Jeep on the way home, obviously not accustomed to riding in cars. But at least he didn't get car sick.

Once home, we introduced him to Mater in the front yard…

Rusty will celbrate his 7th month ampuversary tomorrow!

Tuesday, August 24th

Tomorrow will be Rusty’s seven month Ampuversary and he is doing great! He is full of life and enjoys almost every minute to its fullest! He still has an occasional day that he is not very active nor eats until later in the day, but by evening he is usually back to normal and wants to play and eagerly eats his dinner. His diarrhea episodes have almost completely subsided and Dr. Macy cut his dosage of Budesonide in half.

Rusty's endurance is still… Continue
