One of the things that my mom
loves to do is go down to the canal. She just loves walking down there and seeing all the people and dogs. She is always begging DD to go with her, but he usually doesn't like to go.
However, this weekend we all went because of Mom's 26th Birthday! YAY!…

So every weekend I always tidy up the house a bit and sweep the floors. However, for the first time ever... I didn't do it this weekend! Why you ask?? Because Remington had company!!! Buddy, our friend Mike's parent's goldendoodle came over on Sunday because Mike's parents were moving his sister into college! I figured, why tidy up nowwhen two dogs in the house together are going to make a much bigger mess than usual. Might as well wait until sweet Buddy leaves.
The dog…

Halas and I finished up our 2nd flyball tournament earlier today. The first one was back in May, so it's been over 3 months between tournaments. He's been doing great in practice - not bobbling the ball, not skipping jumps, passing other dogs really well, running with the regular line up of dogs, etc. So we were all expecting big things from him at this tournament. It didn't go exactly as we had hoped. This tournament was much bigger than the first one. It was in the same location, but they had…

Tara and I have been practicing the rollover trick for the past few weeks. We are learning tricks from the "101 Dog Tricks" book and this one
seemed pretty basic and easy. We started by learning the roll part which got her flat on her side. She caught on to that fairly quickly but then we got stuck at that point. The little legs just didn't want to go over. The last few days I have been manually flipping her legs over to complete the roll. Yesterday it all clicked and she has been…

It's pretty amazing that it's been 5 weeks since we brought Floyd home. It's for sure gone by fast but at times it feels like it's been years. Overall I have gotten more sleep but I still have not been able to get my full 8 hours that I'm used to so I have begun getting used to feeling just slightly tired all of the time. I'm ready for nap right now as a matter of a fact. With that said, Floyd is learning so quickly I can't believe how far we have come. Going from that feeling of… Continue

Well we're back from our two weeks at the beach, and the Doods have lots to tell. Overall they were great....although we did have a few "fresh episodes" the first week and we had to join the Naughty Doodles group. By the second week they had adjusted and were able to go out and play in the water off leash in the morning and later in the day when most people had left for the day. There were some grouchy beach people that didn't seem to be very happy with wet Doodles shaking sand all over their…

Recently there was a post about dogs being rescued and in return becoming a friend, companion and an unconditional giver of love. I was just listening to a song by the Eagles called " Love Will Keep us Alive". The lyrics struck me as being the perfect theme song for a rescue organizion. I'm sure it wasn't written with animals in mind but, if it works great. You can listen to the song on my page. This time when I was listening my mind kept seeing the pictures of Matthew when he was rescued. If…

Puppies are inherrently figity and will definitly move or turn at the worst possible moment when you are shooting their picture.
There are two ways we use to secure our puppies:
First is using a narrow black show lead. Get behind your couch or chair and hold the pup in place with the show lead which is easily removed from the image using an editing progarm if you desire. Covering the couch with a blanket or other type of cloth helps keep distractions…

Hey doods! R&B here TGIF!! So DD is out of town and so we have to watch DM all on our own! After spending the whole day sleeping while she worked from home, except the one time she got on a conference call, we thought we needed to participate too! Well, we must have not been that bad cuz she took us to the PET STORE! She said we needed some new treats for our upcoming training, and since we miss daddy so much we must need a couple of new toys, a ball for me (R), and a furry blue squeaky…

I thinks I have done BIG WRONGS this time!! My daddy got a new pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. I thought they looked a little crooked on his face so when him and mommy went to dinner last night I adjusted them for him :-) I was trying to be a good girl!! He left them right on the counter for me - or so I thought.
I must not have done a very good job. They came home and he was MAD! Mommy said "Hunter, what did you do?" She has this "special" voice when she says that to me. I knew I must…

Darwin was attacked today. Full on attacked. And the horrible dog drew blood.
DH and I got invited to go hang out with some friends at a really nice grassy park. We wanted to play Frisbee. Well, this park is also an off-leash dog area so we thought we would bring Darwin. The nice thing about the park is that although it's an off-leash area, there are rarely dogs there, and when there are dogs there, it's just one or two well behaved dogs playing fetch. Much nicer than your…

For the last week now Mom and Dad have been on vacation. I think it's great because I'm never alone and I like having Mom and Dad around all the time. We've been hiking, whale watching, gone on picnics and swimming. My Mom laughs at me because I only like going in the water up to my…

Hi there,,, this is my first blog and I thought i would share with everyone a funny habit that Gunther, my big doodle boy, has. When just about anybody comes into the house he will do one of two things,,, he either goes and grabs something to carry in his mouth,,, just about anything will do,,, or he will go around and behind the person entering and push between their legs until they let him through. I have always gotten the impression this is his 'special' way of getting a hug from them. Our…

Yesterday I came home from work and found one of my shoes that I wore out to the bar on the weekend laying in the living room. Upon inspection, I noticed the heel was chewed a bit. I kind of shrugged it off. I was kind of upset that Abel would do that but it was just a tiny bit and though maybe he just smelled somthing on it or something.
So last night me and my boy go out for dinner. When we come back a couple hours later my shoe is chewed apart! Not only that, but he got a headband…

Today, our mom said she had to clean the house because she is going to Ohio for a shower this weekend. She said she doesn't know why she is bothering since dad is as messy as Vern. Anyway, she told us dad was going to be watching us this weekend and she said, "God help you!" whatever that means. Well, we decided since she had so much to do before Friday that we would help. After she mopped all the floors, Fudge tried to help dry the floor by walking back and forth through all the wet spots. Mom…

So Mousse has been dubbed the puddle monster - we are having such a hard time house training him. And lately he's just gotten worse - not going out side and then going inside as soon as we come in - and we've been trying everything we can think of. Finally a small sign of success! Today for the very first time - Instead of going on the floor Mousse walked to the door and gave a little wuff to get my attention then I took him outside and he did his thing. I was soo proud :) Hopefully we will…

How can 5 years go by soooooo fast?????? I have never had a dog more intelligent, alert and watchful as Buddy. If he is bored, he steals something to wag in front of your face. If he sees Kona on my lap in the Lazy Boy, he has now come to take his turn, and he won't be satisfied with just a half a lap. The foot rest goes out and he is full on LOL (I need to get hubby to get a picture of that…
