Our friend's F1 labradoodle, Noulli, stayed with us this weekend and did great at wearing out my doggies =)
He had a difficult first night settling in his crate in our room--wanted to be touching Thule I think the entire time so he vocalized this for a long time. He's absolutely smitten with her and thinks she's there for his humping delight. She's gotten really good at telling him when she's had enough, but he's a...um...male, so you know how that goes! LOL
His first full day…

It was a blast this morning, getting together with some of the DoodleKisses friends right here in Arizona! What made the day so special was having Janet and Jess join us - you go, Jess! And Susan's husband Ron, who's just come through a kidney transplant. These guys are superheroes!
I'm putting a little video I created with my Flip camera - here are a couple of photos - Susan has some great ones.
We met several more Doodle owners while we were at the park - and told them…

Last Tuesday the golf course dog "Mary" came by twice to play with Ella and she had so much fun! When Mary left Ella looked so forelorn. That evening I emailed the breeder and asked if there was any chance they would let go of Henry, whom they had kept from the litter. They have decided to scale down their operation and were discussing if they could possibly let go of Henry! Soooooooo, I am meeting them in Northern ILL next Sunday and transfer Henry!! Down side is that he is not housebroken, but…

So we had Obedience class on Friday night. Class has been going very, very well.. In fact, the last two weeks, I would say Toby has been almost the star of the class. And then came Friday night. Our class was fuller than usual. We had three dogs doing a make up class, and were with us. It is a very big area, but still, that made 14 dogs and handlers, four floor instructions, a lead instructor, and a few spectators sitting across the end. With tasty treats in hand, I was prepared to excel once…

Or so it seems, anyway! Today I saw not one, not two, not three, but FOUR doodles in the span of 1 hour, and not all in the same place, either. I don't know if it's the same phenomenon as when you learn a new word and suddenly you see and hear it everywhere, or if the popularity of this breed is just rising dramatically, but I had never seen so many doodles in one day when it wasn't a planned event. Two were at Panera's outside with their family. SO sweet! The labradoodle I was petting was…

Hokie is now known on our cul de sac as "the Gentle Giant". Our neighbors have a new brindle Boxer puppy named Kaiser and Hokie is so good with him. It is so much fun to watch those 2 play. Its unbelievable how gentle our doodle is with that puppy. Kaiser can walk all over him, run under him, bite at his whiskers and tail and Hokie goes right along with it.

It is a small Goldendoodle world! Today my daughter bumped into an apricot Goldendoodle at Norfolk Academy's Field Day and she stopped and talked to the owner. Anybody on here that took their GD to Field Day today? Just thought I'd see if we could connect.

I'm calling Tidewater k9 trainer on Monday. I bought two sizes of Kongs, a small gentle leader, an Orka tuggie chewie thing, a squeaky Kong Wubba, and "the Art of training a puppy" by the Monks of New Skete. I need to get so much more that my…

Hi everyone,
Yankee is a wonderful friendly dog but lately he has become possessive. If he sees another dog with a ball or stick, he goes to play with them until he gets what they have. If they try to take it back, he snaps. He has always shared his water bottle but the last couple of times that another dog came to drink with him, he snapped.
He is also jealous if his best buddy (Charley) starts playing with another dog. He tries to get Charley away from the dog by poking…

So proud of my boys today. They have been getting along much better lately, especially since we began to trust them to sleep together in the living room (I couldn't take Chases crying at night anymore!!). We had a good morning at the Farmers Market and both dogs were mellow and tired. So, we decided to go for it and load them both in the trunk instead of one in the trunk and one on the back seat. Today was a good day to try as my husband was home and…

today was meant to be THE day. I had a vet appointment with Benny to remove the stitches on his paw. We both were looking forward already to remove the stupid shoe he was wearing all time over his bandage and this would have meant: no leash, finally running around and playing rough with other dogs again and most important SWIMMING. But it all turned out different. The stitches were removed, but there are still some irritations which can get infected. Which means: outside still the shoe, no…

Well, after waiting until the perfect time (house with fenced in yard, settled in place for a while) we are getting an Old Mill Doodle Goldendoodle! I pushed the purchase button tonight! The soul searching is over and now I need to prepare for our little bundle of puppy joy to come home.
There is so much information on here and I've been pouring over it. I'm going to head to the library tomorrow and see if I can find copies of Puppies for Dummies and the Art of raising a puppy. Any…

Today was new puppy picture Thursday! It's amazing how closely the email gets watched when waiting for pictures!
Eyes open and looking at the camera. They are all so cute!
Our next big milestone will be when the breeder does the matching and sends us a picture of our puppy.
While my children & I have been blessed to have had many wonderful dogs in our lives, this puppy will be the first for Keith and also for his 17 year old son. I am amazed at how excited they both…

Hey,
I live in Asheville and would really like to come to the Romp with Misha. How do I get directions? I also might want to find a dog friendly hotel nearby. Can't wait. My e-mail is KayLoveland1@aol.com
