Heart beats and a green suede pump...

Today was supposed to be a day of rest. I needed to follow up with my high blood pressure stress issues and knew I needed to switch doctors. So my appointment with my new doctor was today. As I was leaving for my appointment I called the hospital to learn that Jess was scheduled for another surgery -- about 1:00 PM again (which means 3:00, that much I've learned). Reason? Rosco and I are Taking a Road Trip!!!

I'm heading West for training and JUST booked the hotel and off we go in a couple hours.

I HATE HATE HATE driving for longer than 1 hour in any direction and we're going for 5 ... ugh.

But with Rosco on board it will be much more nice =) plus I won't be lonely in the hotel and Rosco will get the royal treatment hanging out with me on the normally-off-limits human furniture!

Cautiously optimistic with some surprises along the way...

Yesterday was a hard day for me. It was the three week anniversary I did not want to remember. Worth the Wait!

We were lucky enough to get six of the pups together. It was great! They seemed to gravitate to eachother, I really think they knew eachother! They really stuck with eachother. There were at least 6-8 other dogs besides ours at the play party and our guys really played mostly with eachother. It was so much fun. There was a white GD that was 14 mos, and it was huge! Lizzie gets the OFFICIAL "healthy" title!

Lizzie went to the vet today for her 10 day follow up after being released, and she is doing phenomenal! The vet staff were AMAZED at how much bigger she looked and how happy she is. She is up to 13.7 pounds! (Trust me, we have worked for every ounce of that too.) She was wiggly and happy to see everyone, she actually ran into the office to say hi! Hello Shea NY

Hello, we are new to this forum. We have just adopted our little "Shea" and are curious as to what he will look like as he grows up. Here is a photo of him at 8 weeks. Potty Frustration

Yesterday, Phoebe had no accidents inside and I was so thrilled thinking that we had turned a corner BUT...I suppose not. So far today, she has had three accidents including peeing down my a/c register in the floor by the front door. I suppose I should be happy that she went to the front door but I am still grappling with the sight of her and my inability to catch her fast enough. That is the other frustration. Look at this picture of this huge dog I saw at Mardi Paws!

My niece's coworker brought a photo in after the Mardi Paws of this "huge, amazing dog" that she saw in the parade. My niece looked at the photo, "Oh thats Murphy, my Aunt Linda's dog".
Like I said, we don't have many Doodles down here. But he is huge and amazing.

Anticipation...

Well, today we get to go meet up with some of Fozzy Bears brothers and sisters! We ar excited to see how the puppies react to eachother! Fozzy has 7 brothers and 3 sisters. I know that one of his brothers went to Iowa. But maybe if we plan a summer romp, we will get everyone to show up. I think today, if everything works out, there will be eight of us! A little wine does not hurt...

My dear friend of 31 years spent the night and took me up to Mayo today. It was great therapy. Good friends know what you need.

Jess had a fever again in the morning but I am seeing the cycle -- it seems to go up after being in the OR and the poking around. He is cultured every day with results returning three days later, so far, no infection.

Mixing dry and wet dog food

I have recently heard it is good to mix dry and wet dog food. Healthier for the dogs. Does anyone do this?. I know I have seen Ceasar MIlan feed both. My dogs eat dry dog food only.

Puppy Love from Lizzie

First, I have graduated to a "socialite!" WOO!

Second, I think I finally found a food that Lizzie likes, eats, and poops! It is Blue Buffalo chicken and rice. I'm still supplementing with canned food from the vet, but she has been eating the blue buffalo for a couple of days and doing well. She also stopped eating her own poop! The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, and I mean Ugly

The good: Jesse does not have a temperature today. The bad: his heart did not work by itself. The machine is a BiVad Missi, I did not hear that term before but I get it now. He will stay on it. They will try to wean him off again next week, but the doctor really believes now that there is too much damage. So I won't get any hopes up and think positively for a successful transplant and getting him ready for that. The doc said getting a heart can take many months. There are bridge… Continue

Ozzy is fine Surgery and 1st Hair cut

OZZY'S FIRST HAIR CUT TURNED OUT FINE....WHY DID I WORRY THAT THEY MAY MAKE HIM LOOK FUNNY, I DON'T THINK OZZY WOULD HAVE CARED ONE BIT ABOUT HE LOOKED.

SURGERY WAS FINE TOO! I CAN'T HELP BUT WORRY...HIS DEW CLAW WAS GROWING STAIGHT OUT OF HIS LEG AND WAS ALMOST THE LENGHT OF MY FINGER...OK SO I ASK THE VET IF I COULD KEEP HIS DEW CLAWS AND I HAVE THEM HOME IN A JAR...…
