Little Miss Sophie has taken to testing me lately. When they come back in from Potty, they have to go to their pillows in the L.R. to get their treats! Lately Sophie has taken to laying down right beside her pillow, not on it! Sometimes she will lay a toy on the pillow and it is like "but mom, the pillow is full". She can be such a brat!

We went to a new facility for a therapy visit today and we encountered one gentleman that just loved Sophie. He wanted to give her his potato chips and when I said no that she had some treats, she better not have any, he said well I have a can of Alpo! Anyway, someone else in the area asked me how old she was and I said she would be 2 in a couple months ..... the man immediately said "We have to have a birthday party for her". In the last 48 hours there have been 3 posts regarding fencing .... resulting in 2 tragedies and one averted tragedy! Last night I was sitting on the Sofa. Sophie was sitting on the Love Seat. Lucy came and jumped up and put her head in my lap. I was just sitting there rubbing her head for probably 10 mins when I hear Sophie "Woof". Lucy's head popped up, but immediately settled right back down. A few mins later Sophie "Woofed" again a little louder, and hopped off the Love Seat and is looking around like what was that. Sophie went for her 1st Paw Pal Visit today with Vitas Hospice. She is assigned to visit Mary, a hospice patient 2 - 3 times per month. She did really well for her first visit to this facility. Our biggest challenge in doing Therapy Work is that all of the facilities have birds, and Sophie loves birds! She spots them as soon as we get in the door ..... even before I do! I've noticed that the residents at the Veteran's Home where Lucy and Sophie go have a terrible time with Sophie's Name. They will ask me her name and I'll say "Sophie" and they will say "Oh Soapie", and I'll say "No, Sophie", trying to be really careful. Finally I'll just give up and say yes Sophie! It happens every time we go. Today this led to one man getting into a conversation with me about "soaping" her up when I give her a bath. And what fun that must be. I had my little great niece (wow that makes me sound old) yesterday. Lucy and Sophie did so well with her. After the initial excitement of her arrival the rest of the day went extremely smooth! We had no tears from being scratched all day (that's a first). Lucy and Sophie just don't realize that they are bigger than Emma and seems we always end up with Emma in tears. Our Nephew Adam arrived back at Ft Campbell KY yesterday after 11.5 months in Iraq! I don't think there is a better Christmas Present! We are so proud of both he and Heather for all their sacrifices over the past year!

Do you think Sophie knew even this young who the boss was? I don't even ever remember seeing this picture before but DH came across it last night!

I realize he isn't a Doodle, but did anyone see Bo on the White House Christmas special last night? He is so adorable ..... looks like he has a Tuxcedo on! And, he was very well behaved and looked really really happy and joyful to be around! At that age, my girls (even with all the training they had) would have been a nightmare!

Last year I searched everywhere for cute stockings for Lucy and Sophie and ended up just using some I already had because I couldn't find anything I really liked. This year my search continued until I came across these stockings ..... I thought they were perfect for my black and strawberry blonde girls! Anyone else found any cute stockings for your Doodles? I wasn't able to hang them from the mantle though because they kept wanting to play with them so this spot will have to do!…

You've all probably heard the little ditty, "How Much Wood Could a WoodChuck Chuck if a WoodChuck could chuck wood?" Well, looking at those cute precious little TN Babies shown below in foster care with the DRC I'm just sitting here thinking "How Many Doodles Could a Doodle Mom Have If A Doodle Mom Could Have More Doodles?" They are so adorable ...... I want the Black one and the Chocolate one .......... I've got to stop looking at Doodles for Adoption!

I forgot about this picture when looking for something for this week's slide show, but came across it this morning! Sophie is absolutely crazy about birds! She doesn't want to hurt them, she just stares at them (well unless they are in her back yard). When we walk in Petsmart she pulls me straight over to the bird cages and she just stands and stares! I used to wonder if our Sophie was ever going to get "doodley" looking. We had just sort of resigned ourselves to the fact that she wasn't going to have a really fuzzy face and shaggy body. Have you ever thought that about your own puppy. If so, check out the difference in Sophie below ..... there is hope!…

Reading Chelsea's "A Good Doodle Day" Blog got me to thinking back to when I was potty training Lucy and Sophie.
