I've been trying to be so conscientious with Guinness's diet lately. He's getting Blue Buffalo chicken which I supplement with home cooking (chicken, a little rice, and some vegies). Last night I gave him some green beans with his dinner. Oh, he was not a happy camper. He kept looking at me like I had lost my mind. I ignored his reaction, and then I noticed he was picking them all out (and they were totally mixed in with the "good stuff"). As he picked each one out he gave me a really dirty,…

Last night was an eventful one. I told this story to a friend on DK and she said I needed to post, so here is your laugh for the day!
Our neighbor has a wheaten terrier named Max. He is 1 1/2 and is best buds with Peri. Peri had a lot of energy, so we invited Max to our place after dinner last night. All was going well until 30 minutes into the playdate. Both Peri and Max got the zoomies. They crashed into a tall, ceramic floor vase and it smashed all over the place (it was huge). I…

Dear Wiggle Worm,
I know that you're not scheduled to arrive for another week or so, but please know you don't HAVE TO wait that long. Really...after all this time...you're welcome home at any moment. Your room is ready see?
This is where we'll sit while you eat:

I used to wonder if our Sophie was ever going to get "doodley" looking. We had just sort of resigned ourselves to the fact that she wasn't going to have a really fuzzy face and shaggy body. Have you ever thought that about your own puppy. If so, check out the difference in Sophie below ..... there is hope!…

With this week's slideshow on Doodles with their friends I thought this would be cute (although not a Doodle, so not as cute as it could be). "Sometimes when you're angry with someone, it helps to take some time to cool off and think about the problem". LOL

when 3 doodles can spend their day changing the design of Mom and Dad's comforter? My response to my Mother when she said 'And this is okay by you?' was 'YUP! They had so much fun doing it! All it needs is to be thrown into the washing machine and I have a lifetime of memories'!!

Here is a link to an article on WebMD about
exercising with your dog. Most of it is the usual stuff, but still a good reminder.

Today, it was 18 degrees above normal. It was 71 degrees out! Great! Lots of "house" work to be done in weather like this! So, Jerome and I proceeded to each do some work. He likes the outdoor work, I like the indoor work. He cleaned the gutters and blew leaves and mowed the lawn. I cleaned windows and the marble bay window and marble under my indoor stove. Vacuumed the walls and ceilings in the house and dusted.
After cleaning the gutters, Samson was allowed out on the deck. Okay!…

Woo Hoo! We did it! We made it the 10 miles to obedience class without up-chucking! Today I gave Harlow her Dramamine at 6:00 AM (our class is at 10:00 AM). She stilled drooled on the way, but not as much; it only took one tea towel to dry her chin rather than the normal two. What’s more, she was also lively for the class and was working with a spring in her step. Then we made the 10 miles back home without getting car sick.

We went to Austin for a family gathering yesterday. Toby stayed in the back yard (house too full of people) while we ate. When I looked out to check on him this is what I saw! My granddaughter, the artist, had done some chalk sidewalk art earlier.
Oh, Toby is wearing a t-shirt because he had a cyst on his chest removed and he kept licking the stitches.
So, in the dark when we got home, we tackled a major bath - chalk was everywhere the t- shirt wasn't and hard to get out!…

What a great time we had meeting you all in Columbus. Did anyone get a count on attended doodles? For some reason I get ADHD with all the activities and it all becomes a whirlwind. I know I enjoy myself as much as the dogs do. Nice to meet you all!
My pictures are full of doodle butts so not much visual memories to share with you.
Thanks again for a beautiful day. Roger, Joanne, and Spud

We had one of those wonderful sunny, mild November days today so we took the pack to the dog park. There were lots of dogs there. Everyone was having a good time playing and sniffing the other dogs. I asked DH to go back to the car to get a bottle of water and proceeded to walk towards the back of the park to play fetch with Harlow. I thought Sherlock and Baxter had seen me walk down the hill. After a few minutes Sherlock came down to where Harlow and I were playing. I looked around for Baxter,…

Bear graduated last night from Intermediate Obedience Class with flying colors. Now we get a break until January. Next class he takes he will not get treats. He is so food driven!

Today being Saturday I took the opportunity to laze in bed a bit later than normal. The dogs thought it was a great idea too; after they had their breakfast of course. So after breakfast and a quick potty break everyone ran and hopped back in bed. After we all snuggled under the covers the pack decided that mommy might like a doggy bath. All 3 proceeded to give kisses, the beagles each took an ankle and Harlow decided my neck could use a good washing. That is when I began contemplating the…

Guinness just completed Basic Agility, and he is being "Held Back". No moving on the next level for him. The Trainer was telling all the other Moms to be sure and get their dogs signed up for Intermediate. Then she mentioned to me that Guinness probably needed to redo "Basic". She was really nice, and said "he's just a puppy" and it would really be helpful to him to go through it again. Kind of the same story my Kindergarten Teacher daughter gives parents when she doesn't think the child is…

Yes, it's Friday...and the 13th. This morning, we had a doodle that was standing there, looking at you, chewing away! What do you have Samson?? And then, zoom off. What do you have??? ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM...help!! Jerome, get in here so we can corner him....
Ah, thank goodness, just a piece of paper!!! Sigh...
Just the other day, I had a stained glass ornament stuck on the glass of my sliding doors. The ornament fell and broke. I could not repair it so, I put it away in the…
