The Book I Made My Nephew

As many of you remember from here, I made a book for my nephew that had photos of him and Darwin doing things together. Well, photos edited to make it look like they were doing things together. :-) Anyways, I gave it to him over Thanksgiving and he loved it. Here are some photos my sister sent me of him reading the book after they got home. Also, the front and back cover. I had a hard time choosing the page and cover…

My husband is turning into a Doodle Addict with all of the Doodle Cards. Wait til you read what he did to me....

It is so funny...I love my Doodles they are very much a part of our family. My husband thinks I'm a little crazy but that's ok because what comes around goes around. I told him I was going to tell my DK family about what he did to me tonight soooo here it goes......A little history first though just because when I get to the point of this story you will understand what I mean by my husband is turning into a Doodle addict. Last year I signed up and did the Doodle x-mas card exchange and it…

SHHHHHHHHH....I THINK THE FLEAS MIGHT BE GONE!!!!

It’s only been two days, but I can’t find any fleas on Traveler or on my socks after the ‘white sock test.’ This is the first time in several months that I haven’t been able to find a single flea, and I’ve tried Frontline Plus, Advantix, Nature’s Guardian, flea powder and comb and a flea bath. Some of these have definitely lowered the flea population, but that’s the best result I could get. I could always find a few fleas.

This time I used Comfortis (a beef-flavored tablet)…

Monty PASSED his GCC!

A very short time ago, I didn't know what GCC meant. After learning of this designation on DK I was intrigued to figure out could Monty and I do this? We braved ahead and signed up for classes. I was so scared. I'd never taken any dog to classes and couldn't believe I had now turned out to be one of those dog people. :D I've always had dogs, was able to teach them things and at some point they were good enough. Well not anymore! Monty received an A, the handler/trainer received a C-! LOL It was… Continue

What is your Doodle thinking? iPod App LOL HILARIOUS!

I found this really funny :-) My daughter found an App for her Ipod that is supposed to "sense" what your dog/Doodle is thinking. You hold your Ipod up to their head and it reads their thoughts LOL LOL So far tonight Hunter has been thinking "Such a pity I get to nap all day while you have to work" then it was "Are we ever going to go to the park and swim again" both were very accurate!! And then it said the craziest thing "Is it time for go for a run?" A run? A run around the couch maybe - a… Continue

Happy 1st Birthday Bandit!!!

It is sooo hard to believe that today my little Bandy Bear turns 1 year old!! Our pack was not complete until he joined our family. Rosey and Bandit are the first dogs I have ever had as my own and they are the loves of my life. Even more special is that Bandit and Rosey have been the best of friends since day one and has only continued to grow stronger. Bandit is a true momma’s boy, a little cuddle bug, a squeaker toy lover, a food fanatic and he

loves his sissy so…

My charlie

He is the most adorable dog in the world. He is loveable, sweet, very smart, but he is soooo active. He loves the outdoors, but, he cannot be out all the time. We travel and work on the road a lot, and have a 45 ft rv. He is now 6 months old, and hasnt traveled with us yet. We will be heading out the first of the yr for several weeks at a time. I am worrying that he will be miserable. Do they usually settle down when they start getting older? When he is inside, even after romping outside and… Continue

Winter Feeding ?

Just throwing this out to my DK friends for some interesting discussion. Last night a news story ran about keeping your pets safe and healthy during the winter months. It was suggested that you should increase the amount you feed your pet (dog / cat) due to changes in their metabolism....burn more energy to stay warm so they need more food. Interesting? Does anyone feed more in the winter? Does this mean I can eat more too? Smile.

Tara's 2nd Birthday!!! Woo Hoo!!

Four years ago DH and I felt as if our hearts shattered when we lost our 18 year old cat and 15 year old dog on the same day. We still had our current cat Amber at the time but I think we both silently vowed never to let another dog into our hearts again. It was too painful to lose them. But as the years past I found that I was stuck somewhere in the grieving process. In a 2 year span we had lost 3 of our parents, 3 of our animal companions and a favorite Uncle. We didn't have time to grieve…

Oliver...my sweet boy!

Ollie has come a long way from his biting and growling. He is now 14 weeks old. He almost never growls or bites anymore. He listens to instructions well and is doing really well with training.(though I know there are likely to be rebellious periods during his teen years.) He is also potty trained now and has had no accidents in the last 2/3 weeks. He tells us he needs to go by scratching at the door and a soft woof. All in all a real joy to have around and a happy and secure little guy.

The… Continue

Just little things that make you laugh!

My leaf rake, just a cheap plastic headed one had fallen to the ground. With the help of my neighbors tons of leaves had covered it up entirely. Riley, was out for a peaceful cruising of the yard. Somehow he stepped on one end of it, and the other end came flying up. I have never seen a little dog jump so high from a standing position. I swear he went three feet in the air! Ran about ten feet, and turned to look to see what the heck had just happend. I still laugh thinking about it.

Sick little girl

Talk about tug at your heat strings. I just took Rooney, on a cold and windy Florida day to our dog park. We were early and there were no other dogs there - just a grandmother and her two small grandchildren. A little girl about 7 was just laying on a park bench coughing. I said to the Grama "oh dear, someone has a bad cold." She said "no - she has cystic fibrosis." By this time the little girl's younger brother had started to play with Rooney and they were running and chasing each other but… Continue

Are You Looking For Gift Ideas for Your Doodle?

I came across this on FaceBook today. When I saw that it was constructed of cardboard my initial thought was "Oh sure....this will last about 1 MINUTE!!!" But, on viewing the video it actually looks like something Banjo would really love! It's called "The Amazing Treat Machine". Check it out here -

I think I may order one!

Snow

Well, we had lots of the white stuff and you were all right, zoomies are great fun!!! My mum thought I was really funny chasing round and round and rolling about, she said I looked like a snow dog and it was a good job I'm black otherwise she wouldn't have been able to see me!! The white stuff was really deep and it tickled my tummy when I was running about. When we went to the park, there was lots of us playing about and jumping like "spring lambs". Great, great fun. Mum had to pick all…

New Meaning for Dingleberry!!!!

I came across this today while I was searching for something totally unrelated. I thought it might give you a chuckle.image SAN DIEGO, California- John Dingle and Brad Berry are ready to give back to the community. The animal lovers and pro football players announced they will join forces to build the Dingle Berry Dog and Cat Home for abandoned pets. "We see a lot of pets go to shelters and if nobody takes them in six weeks, that's where we step in. We give them a home for another six…

Happy Feelings

Angelina, one of the female Maltese we fostered from the horrible puppy mill in Oregon had been adopted several months ago. She and her buddy, another rescue Maltese (not our rescue) named Rocco, came to stay with us for a week while their mom was out of town on business...

Both Angelina and, especially Rocco, thoroughly enjoyed playing with Holly and she enjoyed them. Rocco is a very energetic and playful dog while Angelina is more sedate. Rocco would roam our yard following…

Eukanuba National Invitational Dog Show

Judy visited the Eukanuba National Invitational Dog Show at Long Beach, California yesterday because Sarah, a Maltese we had bred and whom we still co-own with her trainer/handler had been invited to the agility trials. I stayed home to take care of our dogs - we have a new rescue puppy about three days old and we don't leave puppies and their moms alone for any length of time. AND OF COURSE, many of the college championship football games were being played, EVERY DARK CLOUD HAS A SILVER… Continue

Do You Call Your Doodle?

When I ask do you call your doodle, I mean on the telephone. Sometimes when I am at work and I call to check in at home my DH will put the phone to Quincy's ear so I can talk to him, as soon as he hears my voice he runs around the house looking for me. Are we just a little crazy?

I think I saw men in white coats with a big net lurking outside my house. They're coming to take me away, HA… Continue
