Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My fur babies are so cute together. Ollie is really patient with her and a concerned big brother. Today when Juno got her paw stuck in the crate and yelped, he came running and sat by her when I was comforting her. He still gets annoyed at times with her puppy enthusiasm but they are learning to be together. He does steal all her toys and stashes them away in his corner but he does so very politely and quietly when she is not looking. No snatching or growling from my darling Ollie. She on…

Hello all! I am back after a 3 1/2 year hiatus from Doodle Kisses. We just added a new little Labradoodle pup to our family. We are in love with the new puppy. This one is a girl and adorable as can be. We call her Juniper aka Juno. Our older pup Oliver aka Ollie is a great big brother and has been very patient and sweet. A little about Juno...She is 9 weeks old and shares her birthday with my dad. :-) She is a medium and a beautiful Caramel color. A lovely contrast from our Chocolate doodle…

We rescued Haley from a Los Angeles shelter where she was in danger of being euthanized "because she was too shy to be adopted". She would cower in back of the pen and never establish contact with prospective adopters. However, she is lively and animated with us and has established a rapport with Judy and I. She seems to love playing with our other foster dogs. She's a great little dog.
She's really a pretty dog and we suspect that she is a poodle mix of some kind. But what kind…

Hi,
My 5 1/2 month girl, Gingy, is from Lonestar Doodles in Weatherford, TX. I would love to see pics and talk to owners of babies from this awesome breeder. It would be awesome if I could connect with half siblings and/or litter mates. She was born on August 7th.…

I am hoping the title of my blog makes you think about the line from Forrest Gump and the simple way in which Forrest viewed and shared the world. Just like my Vern, Forrest was sweet and innocent, and had his own unique spin on life. Vern is a dog that doesn’t put a lot of thought into things or maybe puts as much thought as he can into things, but is truly the most endearing dog I have ever owned. He will do just about anything for a treat and if I could teach him how to quickly…

We got Ruby a year ago in December--as some of you may remember, the day after we got her at 8 weeks, my father-in-law got extremely ill. We took our brand new pup and spent the next 5 days in a nursing facility round-the-clock with him until he died. Ruby was a champ, making friends with all the residents, cheering up everyone, becoming a favorite with visiting Hospice folks.
Then we made a trip by car from Colorado to California and back for the funeral. After that we…

Last night, during my sleepless hours, I was going over all our dogs and the dates we had them. Wow, dogs have been such a big part of our lives. So here is the listing:
Name Years Breed
Barney 1972 - 1989 Miniature Poodle
Tracy 1990 - 2002 Australian ShepMix
Bruno 1992 - 2004 …

Hello, all!! I have not been here for over a year!! I joined DK over 7 years ago when I first began looking for a doodle. Through the support and education I received here, we welcomed our F1b Labradoodle Charlie girl February of 2009. Charlie turned out to be a bit different girl who educated me through her intuitive and eccentric life. DK community was there to…

I hope everyone had a great holiday and Happy New Year! I have no idea how it's possible for Ludo to already be 5 months old! He's had his first Christmas and New Year, has become a pro at doggy daycare and has started puppy kindergarten!
On Loving Ludo:
I absolutely adore him in every way, but I wanted to share an…

I was expecting to pick up three female Maltese which were surrendered to us from a puppy-mill in Los Angeles on the afternoon of December 31st. While waiting for news from one of our volunteers who was assigned to pick up the three dogs from an L.A. vet where they had been checked and spayed, we got a phone call from a person in Oceanside, a nearby city who had seven dogs that were going to be confiscated by animal control due to the deplorable condition in which they were being…

When we last left off, I was mentioning that Fudge and Vern are still adjusting to our new home. I have put the unpacking off until after Christmas and have been working feverishly to make Christmas happen. My kids are full grown, but when I say things like, “we are cutting back this year and doing less,” they still seem to have no sympathy for us. I swear I could be laid up with two broken legs and Megan would say, “Mom, have you ever heard of online shopping?” I still remember the first…

A few big weeks for Ludo!
Mr. Ludo has some fear issues. He is very shy and is scared of lots of thing, even things as small as really loud birds chirping. He is afraid on walks, he's startled when we're in the front yard and a car drives by. He is startled by the noise of airplanes flying overhead. He's afraid of big dogs or any dog barking at him. He even jumped when my sister stepped out of her car in front of him.
I'm trying to help him but also really…

We have moved and the dogs have been uprooted to a new location. They lived all their lives in our previous home and the change has been both fun and hard. I thought Vern would have the most trouble adjusting, but it seems to be Fudge. Neither of my dogs have ever been a Velcro dog, but since the move, everywhere I turn, Fudge is there and I have to honestly say it is driving me a little batty. In our previous home, we could only see one neighbor and we were far enough off the road that…

Pepsi, our poodle-mix foster, who was found with his sister, Cola, in a storm tunnel under 14-lanes of Los Angeles freeway traffic was uneasy around strangers. He had been protecting Cola when they were living in the tunnel and he would barked and growl at strangers. Cola was scared and nervous around strangers.
We began a regimen of clicker training with both dogs and have been very impressed with the results...
Pepsi…

Well I meant for this as a follow up on my last food group post but alas I cant find it..I know I know I should know how to do this by now. I digress, here it is for all to see. gag.
So the other day I found chicken liver and gizzards on sale for .39 cents per pound,I bought 6 pounds each to make treats for my doggie! I wanted to pulverize the livers, add whole wheat flour and pureed pumpkin. I dumped the liver in the colander to drain..OMG. I nearly threw up, obviously I had not thought…

Roo has congestive heart failure. He is only eight years old. His heart is breaking and so is mine. I can tell you that Roo has an excellent vet, so good in fact that the vet cardiologist is willing to turn Roo's care over to him. Something which she said she never does. I could tell you that it is not connected to his Addison's. I could tell you he had an excellent check up in July. I could tell you that this sometimes happens in labs and poodles.
But none of that…

I just got home from the emergency vet. The trainer from Belle's doggy day care suggested that I try the Pet Corrector when Belle jumps on my back after being stopped once with a firm "no." She has gotten much better about that, but in exchange she has resumed chewing on the wooden rungs of my computer chair. She never minded the bitter apple, and has gotten used to the horseradish solution (although she prefers it with gefilte fish). Time outs make no impression on her when she wants to…
