Here is what happened – I was born at this great place where there was a big dog that had these totally awesome milk machines on her tummy. I loved those milk machines and she let me have all that I wanted. This dog taught me all that I know about being a puppy, how to jump, wag my tail, all kinds of stuff. Then there was this lady named “Breeder” she was super nice and when me and…

Throughout my time here on DK I've been hearing about doodle paws smelling like fritos. Whopper definitely doesn't have Frito smelling paws. I've also never met any doodles (or at least smelled the paws) of ones with Frito paws. So, needless to say, I was really beginning to question whether they do in fact exist. Well...they do! Simba, our new addition, has FRITO paws. I even had my husband smell them to make sure I wasn't nuts. Simba must think we are both nuts as we now sometimes call him…

I just dropped Phoebe off at puppy day care because I have a friend coming over (all the way from IN, we are in MN) with her two small children (ages 3 and 5 years) who are precious but wild. I thought it best that Phoebe be out of the fray--we have an open concept house with no real way to gate her somewhere where she would not want to be part of the action plus, this is the first time my friend will be here so we need to do the house tour and such. I am such a worry wart. This is the first…

National Geographics Travelers Magazine has selected Newfoundland's Avalon Penisula as its top rated coastal destination.
The magazine's November issue says the peninsula, the easternmost point in North America, is a "blustery realm" that is home to "brightly painted fishing villages and the lively city of St. John's."
The magazine says visiting the Avalon is "like going back in time — close-knit communities, a strong local…

Ollie is quite the spunky doodle today. The name the breeder gave him is perfect for him during the day. He is 'Valiant' during the day and curious about everything. Nothing really scares him.He even does well in his crate when I go out without him. At night however, his bravado disappears and he is a whiny little baby who needs his human mom/dad. He is still whining and screaming his head off in the crate at night. I know all the experienced people here are saying this is normal but it is…

Mike and I started walking about three miles each morning with our dog, Gordon. If you have a dog, you know that if you do something twice in a row, you’re in a pattern. If you have a dog, don’t start something
with the dog if you don’t plan on doing it for the rest of your life at
exactly the same time of day and in exactly the same…

Tigger went to the vet today for his post surgery check. All is well. He has pooped out all the pieces. My daughters are feeling much better also. Thanks for all your well wishes to Roo's post.
The day of Tigger's surgery just before he was scheduled, a Boxer was brought in who had swallowed an entire wire coat hanger, clothes and all. He went first as he was in acute distress. Tigger really only had his belly skin opened and the small intestine "run" (twice) by the vet's…

Our newest addition has arrived and her name is Brooke. We were a bit nervous and unsure of how Sophie would take to her, but everything is going great!! We had a feeling things would go alright because her original owner had her daughter and grandkids living with her, plus Sophie had been around our friend's kids and our nice and did well.
At first she was jelous from time to time when we would pay lots of attention to Brooke and talk to her, but now it doesn't even phase her…

For the past two mornings, she woke up from her sleep and wretched, but nothing came up. We thought maybe she was hungry, probably some stomach acid making her nauseous ,
so we fed her kibble with Manuka honey drizzled over it.
This morning (3rd morning in a row), again she got up from bed and started
wretching. This time, she upchucked something that resembled a turd (sorry,
this is gross!). DH was totally freaked out, cos "it" was on…

Rua here! The Vikings are playing the Green Bay Packers right now so the computer is free and I thought I would up you on what's happening in my life.
I really love water. Eating ice cubes, taking baths, drinking out of a water bottle or jumping in the shower with Momma. I can just walk into the shower, they forgot to put a door on it when they built it apparently. So, as soon as Momma goes into the shower, I give Papa the slip and join her. I asked Papa to take of picture of…

Hi all Roo here! Boy have we had an interesting few weeks. Our sisters came to stay with us while Mom and Dad took the large box things somewhere. Whenever they put clothes in those things Tigger and I get left at home. This last time I put my very best rubber bone in, but Mom took it out. Next time I am putting myself in the box when it is open on the bed and I won't get out. Then I will get to see what they do.
Anyway, Tigger and I like having our…

As far as these human children go-I am not sure I understand all the hubbub, they don’t do very much at first which is fine with me, you know where they are; and they are strapped in- WHEW. Once they start moving and grasping it is all over. I walked past my 9 month old nephew one time and had to turn around quickly to look to see…
