Great Flyball Weekend for Halas!

This past weekend, we went to the CanAm flyball tournament in Indianapolis. It's the largest tournament in the US each year. They broke the world record for the most participants on Sunday, with 810 dogs! Halas and I were there Friday and Saturday, but we had to miss Sunday. Halas had been doing really well in tournaments lately, but those have all been with only one ring (one race) running. Life with Two Doodles!

We have now had Simba for just over a week! Today he is actually 16 weeks and about 22 pounds. He and Whopper have become very attached and it is so much fun watching them play. She gets very upset when he has to be put in his crate but she is always right there leading the way when it's time to let him out. We are having good and bad days with potty training. He went 36 hours with no accidents and then the next day had 2 so potty training will remain a work in progress. Whopper loves going out… Continue

Murphy Day..A good day

I had Murphy at our outdoor market today (our Saturday regular). One person with a new labrabdoodle puppy came up and wanted reassurance that her pup could NEVER get that big.

Another person wanted hope that her 1 year old would someday be that calm and well behaved (yay!) I assured them that Murphy was a total goofball when he was one.

Then we ran into 2 people who were in our agility class when Murphy young.

My Sweet Fudge

I am a proud doodle mama tonight and it is because of Fudge. My niece came over tonight with her husband and two children (5 and under). They have never met Vern and last Christmas were deathly afraid of Fudge. I mean standing on the chair screaming kind of scared. Vern is more cautious than Fudge so I was worried about his reaction. After 6 painful shots, I learned my lesson!

We had a beautiful weather today!!

Late this morning, I stopped at the park to eat my apple in the beautiful weather before heading to work. (By myself, without Charlie.) Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever...WTD!!!!

So here I am, posting a really "happy blog" about my big goofball, Murph. Apparently he has Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (or some very similar tick borne illness). The alternative was really a very bad thing, so I'm thrilled to death. The Vet said that if he started to show some signs of improvement by tonight, that was "the story". Clifford's great adventure! UPDATE

Hey friends, Clifford here, and my mom just told me we are going on an adventure tomorrow! We are going to meet up with some other doodles in Ohio at a huge dog park. I'm really excited and a little nervous...I've never been swimming before and I saw pictures of them doing daredevil jumps off a dock. I hope they don't laugh at me.

Oh, Oh, Oh

Today during lunch I took a walk downtown. And what do you suppose I seen for the very first time? A doggie boutique! This is NOT a good thing. First of all, it is very close to my work, second they have lots of cool stuff, third they have lots of cool stuff that Monty does not need, nor want. Like clothes, I swore to myself I would never dress him.......right. You know that I was fast talked by the owner to buy a new toy of course.... LOL Wish me luck that I can stay away from there on paydays.

The Whistle

So my mom and dad have been trying to teach me to come when this loud sound comes out of this toy they put in their mouths, I think they call it a whissle. Doodle's first swim...kind of!

Bernie just finished up with all his shots about a week ago, so it's been a big tease walking along the water every day - for us both! Well, he was being such a good boy on our walk today, calm, responsive, I decided to introduce him to the water. Plus, being about 70 out I knew he'd dry quick if we ran around for a bit when we were done!

Dew claws arrgh!!!

Let me officially say "I hate dew claws!"

Murphy just ripped his dew claw out for the third time. This time I pulled it out so we didn't make the rush to the vet...it was after hours anyway. (I had watched the vet do this the first 2 times.) I used a stiptic pencil to stop the bleeding. He really isn't happy with me right now.

It has happened the same way all three times. Running in freshly mowed grass catching a frisbee. WTD!!!

F Scott Fitzdoodle week two and a half update

Has it really been over 2 weeks since F Scott joined us? Time flies when you’re having fun. Scottie loves to play in the backyard with Harlow. There are endless games of Fox and Hound. They run and run and run; then they collapse for a long nap. Scott has turned into a cuddle bug.
