My Aunt has been waiting three years to get a goldendoodle pup. She wanted her son to be at least five. Presley turns five in a couple weeks, so the time has finally come! This litter is almost 6 weeks now. They came over last night to choose their pup. These pictures are so precious, I just love them and had to share! :o)…

Natalie had her first date on Valentine's Eve.
So this is my chick, huh? Do I just grab her and go?

If he thinks he can just grab me and go...then I can…

I leave to get Sheila in Maine on early Tues. morning. I am so excited to meet Sheila and her sibling Tucker. I just pray the snow holds off long enough for me to dart to Maine and back to Illinois--although can one DART to Maine? Two planes and a 3 hr.rental car ride from Portland, ME to Dover-Foxcroft, ME. I hope it's not too hard on the little thing. I will wear plenty of layers just in case of accidents. This reminds me of when I flew with our 15 mo. old deaf child back…

Just got the five week pictures tonight, and pups had been freshly bathed. They are all just beeautiful little creatures. I have no idea how we are going to make this decision.
The breeder indicated that three of the nine have wool coats. The others have fleece. Is there any difference from an allergy standpoint? I've posted the pics of the three wool coated puppies. They will knock your socks off...

I have been experimenting with my point and shoot a lot lately... mostly to convince myself I don't need a fancy SLR. :-) Anyways, I have been using the different settings and decided to try out the super macro. It's AMAZING! I don't think I have ever been able to get such a sharp photo from so up close. I need to work on keeping my hands more still, or perhaps getting out the tabletop tripod. There are a few things that could be in clearer focus. But If you like to take pictures of still life…

Next weekend we visit the breeder to pick out our pup. I think at this point, 'anticipation' is an understatement. We're actually in pain with excitement. The latest?? We had been waiting all week - day after day after day - for last night's pics of the litter, along with growth information that the…

I left Virginia Thursday to attend my Dad’s funeral in Rome, GA. Friday. (Left Haley at home with DH.) It began snowing Friday at Noon in Rome just as the funeral began. By the time the service and reception afterward were over the ground was white.

Yes. They are really good, and my son loves them. But this is a story about how we spent 2 days sick and nervous over the Fiery Grilled Chicken!! My son (15) decided to clean the kitchen inside and out, because he was bored after so may snow days off from school, and also in hope of allowance increase by attempting to show off his cleaning skills ( hahaha )and surprising me when I got home. There were a box of Fiery Chicken Wings bones he…

I am so jealous of all you DK'rs with Doodles who will let you dress them up. So, this week I decided that at least Guinness could wear a Valentine bandana. I couldn't find one anywhere. So, even though I'm the least crafty person ever, off I went to the fabric store to buy Valentine and St. Patrick's Day material. I also bought "pinking scissors" so I could do this without ever breaking out the needle and thread (I was just going to "fray the edges like I used to do to my jean shorts, but the…

Happy Birthday to my 'first' baby "Living Streams Robert ROSCO Redfur"!!! If it weren't for you there'd have been no DK! No immersion into the world of dogs and training and dingleberries! It's a bittersweet day as today would have been Thule's 5th birthday too.
I was thrilled when 4 years ago today I heard news that his mom FINALLY had the litter (2 months gestation back then felt awfully long!). Then 2 months later we brought home this cutie pie:
Here's a flashback blog you…

I thought dogs were colour blind! I'm beginning to think that Yankee can see colors. He has always attacked this black doodle named Jackson. He doesn't really hurt him but he throws him to the ground and stands over him snarling viciously. Today, he attacked a black doodle that I thought was Jackson but it turned out to be Brody. Same thing, he throws him down and snarls and sounds so nasty. He doesn't hurt them and thank goodness the owners can see that. They are not at all concerned. On the…

I took this pic of Sophie yesterday when she was outside playing in the snow. When DH saw it he said the exact same thing I thought when I first saw it ...... It looks like her tongue is broke!

I just wanted to warn you all that this storm that's coming your way is really fierce. We had 3 feet of snow on the weekend, but even though this is less snow it is much worse. The winds are awful, we can barely get our front door open because of them. If you have anything outside that can blow away, you might want to bring it in or tie it down. Stay home, keep warm, and be safe!

Duncan is one lucky boy....I've become addicted to taking him to the dog park. He takes a long time to warm up there so we've been going for 2 hours a day. I am really falling behind with my work, my chores and my running....
And the best part is that there is a guy who comes (don't know his name yet) who I have a crush on. Perhaps that is part of the reason I'm addicted to the dog park:) This guy has 2 german shorthair pointers named Bailey and Kona.…

Well Riley and I finished 6 lessons on agility. He did good for a pup at nine months. Trainer wanted to know what I had planned for the future? Well, I will be going to back to work soon, and can not participate in future training because of time restrictions. I hope to retire in a year, and pick this up again. She gave me quite a few hurdle configurations and scenarios to practice. She said Riley is very good at this age and should do very well later. He has so much energy and smarts, and will…

Yesterday, our guest dog Scout had a series of accidents, of both the pee and poop variety (she went to the vet this morning - she has a UTI, got some antibiotics, and she will be fine...poor little girl!). I evidently missed an area in the guest room where Scout had diarrhea, and only discovered it because Callie jumped in my lap and started lavishing my face with poop-scented kisses. I just didn't know what to do first...scrub my face or wash Callie's mouth (she's given to wandering around…

Today my girl turns 2!
Dear Samantha,
I am so thankful for the day we found each other. Your sister, Marissa, and I were on our way from Home Depot to Costco when we decided to 'just look' in the pet store. There I saw a magnificent chocolate bundle of puppy. Then you opened those magnificent eyes…

When I got Yankee, it was just him and I for almost 2 years. I played with him every day. Now I have Finn and I am wondering if he is special. He can't catch a ball!!!!!
Is he still young (9 mos)and may learn later? Is it because I didn't spend one on one time with him?
Sometimes it's downright embarrassing. At home, I will bounce a ball and he jumps up in the air but nowhere near the ball. At first, I was in stitches but now I'm wondering if he is… Continue
