Among the things many things he does my son, Matthew, creates games. I am, needless to say, very proud of him. Here is a fun game, Balloon Wranglr, for apple devices. I got zero on the first round but it was trial and error. I didn't know the rules and I killed a number of birds, inadvertently of course. The game is free. Here is the game link:…

I work in the ICU and when we admit someone, we have to ask everyone if "someone is abusing their money, food or shelter"… I always laugh and say "you must not have teenagers! when they say no!

I am often posting pictures of our rescue Maltese and how really bad they look when we get them. Dakota, is a dog who has been cared for very well. In fact, his owner had planned to show him but, she has accepted a career enhancing foreign assignment to which she cannot take Dakota.
She loves the boy and wanted to ensure that he will have a loving home but, she did not have the time to search for that home. Instead, she asked Maltese Rescue California if we would take Dakota and…

When the first words you hear from your husband upon waking up are, “Hayley just called and her car broke down and she is stranded miles away in a parking lot,” you can pretty much assume it might not be your best day. I blame it on grogginess that I said the first words that entered my head, “I hope you told her wrong number and hung up the phone.” No such luck and after a tow, a day in the shop, and a hefty bill, her car was all…

Who knew I could run a business in my home with two furry four legged creatures as my employed staff?
Who knew I had the pawfect childcare providers already in place?
Well I sure didn’t – at least not until Saturday.
I told The Boys three very special “little people” were coming over and they seemed beside themselves with anticipation. When their guests arrived, it was difficult to determine who was more excited…

I have been following with interest about taking your doodle to Lowe's/HomeDepot. Haley has mostly stayed at home when we are going to Lowe's because my DH didn't think he would be allowed inside the store. When he has gone I have to stay in the car with him. : ( A few weeks ago I was talking with a Lowe's employee and asked about dogs coming inside. She said people do it all the time (although, I have never seen a dog in the store when I have been there).
Yesterday there was a need for…

Reese is now 13 weeks old and weighs 21.2 pounds ... tall and lean. He is three feet tall standing on his hind legs.
Reese is my shadow and wants to be everywhere I am at. he sleeps beside me as I am on my computer also.
Reese now knows ... come, sit, down, up, back, off, up, go around, touch, high five to say hello, ... and we are working on loose leash walking and retrieving. Reese has also gone to the Tractor Supply and Pet stores and loves everyone. He is proving…

March 15th finally arrived and it was time to go meet our beautiful litter. We got up quite early, hustled to the car, and began our three hour car ride. With no traffic we were approaching our destination earlier than expected so we went and tanked up on gas to kill some time.
Finally we pulled into the breeder's driveway and were immediately overwhelmed with the amount of cuteness running around outside. We were greeted by the most adorable doodles I have ever seen. After meeting…

Well our precious pups are growing like weeds. At almost 16 weeks, Coal is just under 20 pounds and Sadie is 18 pounds. They continue to be healthy and happy, and we continue to love them like crazy. Keeping them separate has provided us with bonding time and is allowing their personalities to really shine. Sadie is a momma's girl and Coal is a snuggle bug. So, that all sounds great, right? It is, and it isn't...
With one puppy, being a puppy parent is tough enough, but there…

We all know “The Fifth Amendment” protects one from being forced to incriminate themselves. Incriminating oneself is defined as exposing oneself (or another) to “an accusation or charge of a crime.”
That seemed to be Harley’s story…

I’ve decided rather than continue to whine, cuss, and fuss about this roller coaster weather ride we’re on, I’m just going to accept it – embrace it – and “go with it.”
Why fret about those things I cannot change.
When you think about it, Mother Nature is a powerful force. I now have renewed respect for her. I no longer try to “will” her to listen to me. I no longer have a “religious-like” attachment to media weather coverage.
I now have a…

Fortunately March is a long month. Perhaps thats the reason for so many Doodle birthdays?? At any rate, we have cause for celebration in March along with several of our Doodle friends. And as Jarka already mentioned, there are a few on the same date. Daphne is now a big 2 year old and Lucy just turned 5.
Daphne & Lucy are Mother & daughter and their birthdays fall so close to each other (March 1 & 6) we decided to celebrate them together on one day. Now I know there are…

DK people really are the nicest. And so are their dogs. Today Gavin and I had a fun meet-up with Julie and Max. We went for a long walk and the boys got plenty of time off-leash to play and romp. The humans never ran out of things to talk about either. Thank you Julie for the fun day and for your hospitality.
The adorable Max and Gavin are introduced:…

So last night was our first night of what essentially is puppy kindergarten (needs to take this to graduate to grade one. So cute)
I honestly don't know who was more tired the humans or the doodle! Spike was out cold on the car ride home and he was still sleepy this morning before I left for work!
I have to say I'm super impressed. Some of the things that were worked on last night I have already been doing with Spike. Handling paws, ears, his tail and such. So that was a bonus.…

We just received a call from an owner wanting to surrender a Maltipoo puppy that had been diagnosed with parvo yesterday. They purchased the puppy from a craigslist seller and these puppies are often brought up here from below the border and are notorious for ill health.
Then the person said that they have a several year old dog WHO HAS NEVER BEEN VACCINATED and is beginning to show signs of diarrhea and vomiting. They asked if they should get the dog vaccinated now! When…

So tomorrow is a big day. My parents, Spike and I are off to puppy school. It's strange. I'm just as nervous and excited as I was when I was going to school.
I just packed his bag with the items from his school list. Non squeaky toys, soft treats, proof of vaccination forms, camera (of course!) and his leash.
I'm a dork. I've accepted that fact. Haha
I'm very excited to really get the training process stated. We've come so far already in the three and a half weeks we've had…

It seems that March is a lucky month for several of us who get to celebrate our doodles' birthdays. Better yet, I know of a couple of doodles who were born on the same date Monty was, just a year ahead: Jack (of Jennifer and Jack, and Daphne (of Lori, Daphne & Lucy). How cool is that? I don't know anyone who would have the same birth date as me!
So, Monty is turning 4. Time is flying way too fast. He will forever be my first dog, my love. He helped me learn about dogs and with the…
