This morning at the dog park (I only had Rosco with me) a cute six month old blue merle border collie decided Rosco looked like a small cow/large sheep. Every time I threw the ball for Rosco, the BC gave chase with no interest in the ball itself. When Rosco would lie down to chew on the ball, the BC would hunker down about 6 feet in front of him and watch him intently... LOL At one point, as I was walking toward Rosco, the BC essentially heeled on one side of me as if "working with me." It was…

I got through with a couple of housekeeping chores and went back to the kitchen and the butter was gone... mmmmm... Mazie is unbelievably accurate about telling time. She eats at 7am and 5pm and God help you if you're in the middle of something and try to postpone her meal for, oh, I don't know, 5 minutes? She is relentless! Usually my sweetheart feeds her and takes her out in the morning (much safer for all involved, since I am NOT a morning person) and I'm in charge of dinner. Well, John left early this morning and left Mazie sleeping (on the bed - which is a BIG treat for her) with me. At 7:01am she was…

Hey friends...
I am curious if it matters the combination of the parents on how the dog turns out. My uncle has two dogs one with a poodle dad and one with a poodle mom and our Cooper has a poodle dad. I just wondered if people have an opinion on if it matters and if so, what have you found the differences to be.
Have a great holiday.

Can anyone help. I love what my puppy looks like. He is about 17 weeks old. For some reason he has one area, on top close to his tail, that is completely different than all the rest. My vet thinks that he is chewing on it. I don't think that is it. It seems like a different texture. Anyone elso have this problem?

Lilo: It must be turkey day again soon, there’s a headless bird sitting on ice in the bathtub.
Rocky: Maybe it’s for us? I like turkey!
Lilo: No dummy, it’s for the humans. They’ve barricaded the bathroom, so we can’t go in there. But maybe we’ll get the giblets again this year! They’re the best part anyway...
Rocky: Why do the humans only eat turkey once a year?
Lilo: Probably because it’s such an ugly bird, and it takes forever to pluck the feathers…

We do. And I'm guessing we're not the only ones. Here's what we routinely call Mazie: Maze, Mazie Doodle, the Mazinator, Mazelah, Munchkin, Moo-Moo, Crazy Mazie, Lazy Mazie, Mazie-Doodle-Half-a-Poodle. Come on, guys, 'fess up! What do you call your Doodles besides their "given" names?

The temperature today was a beautiful 44 so Wilson and I had a great day with our walk, then this afternoon was the best, he went over to play at Bell's house, and they were playing so nicely, then Abbey the Lab peeked its head outside, well Wilson ran right over and waited in front of Abbey's door to see if she can come and play, It was so cute, well Abbey did come out and play and they ran and ran, but all of a sudden Bell started to bark Wilson didn't know what to do he had two friends…

I've been up since 5am to relieve DH from puppy duties - I think he was up from the time I passed out (around 12 or 1am). Sound familiar? Camden is 8 weeks and came home on Friday night. It's Sunday morning and he is now sleeping at my feet - interesting to watch Camden decide whether to go back to his "bed" and continue sleeping with DH or come out to the living room and sleep at my feet.
Baby Camden has a crate in our bedroom. He goes in willingly and is very comfy in his "bed" -…

A 12 week old golden retriever puppy (named Wally) joined our puppy class today and Oliver was absolutely smitten. He likes all of the other puppies in class, but he had a difficult time paying attention today since all he wanted to do was play with this other puppy that looked so similar to himself!
Our teacher decided to use Oliver for an exercise on how to teach them to walk on a loose leash (i.e. they don't PULL you, there is always slack in the leash). Although Oliver…

Rosco and I had a lovely day today :-)
First, we got to meet with
Trasa and her almost 11 week old labradoodle puppy, Nouli. I was a little concerned about how Rosco would play with such a tiny puppy... But he did well. Nouli is a doll and I feel like I'm getting a glimpse of Thule at that age (we got her at 11 months). Nouli might even end up a little bit scruffier then Thule.
Rosco initially ignored Nouli after…

Not sure what to do but came home from work and my doodle had diarrhea all in his crate and he went outside about 5 times after that. The vet said to boil chicken and rice for him over the next few days. Does anyone know the cause of this? Do dogs get viruses? Please help

Well, it's time to take the annual christmas picture, the kids & I were thrilled because this year we have 2 new pups to include. Well Duffy's hair grew very long so I wanted him to look nice for the picture I had Hubby take him for his first haircut & I gave him the print out from this site which he gave to the groomer & I gave instructions over the phone that I didn't want it too short. Well My son just came home from school & was so…

I had pet insurance for my golden retriever and want to get it again for my Goldendoodle. Is there anything out there besides Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI)? That's the only one I know about.
