Hey Jack, Murphy and I wanted to wish you a really happy birthday today! I can't believe you're SIX years old now....Mom says that's like 40 or 50 in "people years". I think that's why you're so much smarter than most of us here on DK. We're just kids....but you've "been around"...and you know "stuff". You're kind of our hero, Jack. Mom always tells us how good you are....it's "Jack does....", "Jack's such a good boy", "Jack wouldn't do that", "Why can't you be more like Jack", "I'm going to…

I have been waiting anxiously for the pumpkin season to resume due to the shortages we all felt last year. I guess I have never been so aware of pumpkin in the stores as I have over this past year. It always seemed readily available whenever I needed it for the holidays, and otherwise,I never gave it any thought.
I don't even know if pumpkin is carried in the stores year round! Never noticed! So with the shortage of 2010 fresh in my mind, and the memories of going store to…

Hi all--not much new to report--except that Lyric has become a very fussy eater! She can't really deal with any of the kibble I have on hand (I happen to have a few flavors in the house at the moment), so she is getting boiled chicken with broth. She eats that, but slowly. She is more tired and so much more laid back than usual. They say that you should see no difference in the energy level or behavior of the dog in the fist few weeks, but she has really changed dramatically. She has a few…

My first blog post! I just had to share . . .
I was just sitting on the couch and noticed Pocket going into the fireplace, acting sort of strangely. I asked him, "what are you doing?" and he promptly ran to the other room, so I thought nothing of it. Then a few minutes later, he jumps on the couch where his blanket is, and starts digging into to it. I tell him to stop, he flings a corner of it over and runs away. I then went to re-adjust his blanket and find a buried pancake! He had…

I think I love my doodle too much! Is that even possible? I don't think Cesar would be very happy with me, I do think of Quincy as a little person more than a dog. A few days ago when I was cuddling with Quincy the thought crossed my mind that I would love a whole house full of little Quincys, no I am not advocating for indiscriminate breeding I just wish I could clone him and have a whole bunch just like him. Do you ever wish that you could have a houseful of doodles just like the one you…

Happy Thinksgiving Everybody...
I have so much to be thankful for that I cannot even begin to make a list of those things of which I am thankful. Good health, a terrific wife, a great family, fine friends and a wonderful relationship with our Goldendoodle Holly and the Maltese we own and those that we have been fortunate to have the ability to rescue.
I don't just think of what I am thankful for on Thanksgiving Day; I am always, during the other 364 days of the…

Duncan and I are doodlesitting today for Harry a goldendoodle. He's spending the night. His first night away from home and from his "pack". He's come a few times for just the day and it's been fine so let's see how the night time goes. He's a great boy. Barks a ton though. And being used to Duncan who's only 29 pounds (that's duncan mooning you in the picture) just getting used to big doodle things like when they jump up to hug you and almost knock you over and dripping water…

Hey Doodles, Allie here. I don't know if you have ever heard this but my mommy says to always go to the slot machine that is close to a door. That is where you can hit a "jackpot" whatever that is but I think I have an idea. Today there are going to be many wonderful smells. I mean almost too much for a doodle to handle. Pumpkin, turkey, stuffing......what is a dood to do?!?!?!?!
The plan......as everyone comes in today be sure to sniff them out. The really smelly ones are…

So for everyone who knows my two Doods you've probably already answered this question. Guess what, you've probably guessed wrong. Yes, Murphy is "Nice", while his brother, Guinness, is the "Naughty" one. Here's what happened today with "the boys". It was a bit of a frantic day with all the Thanksgiving shopping, cooking and cleaning. While I was in the shower I apparently didn't close my closet door all the way. When I finished with the shower, I noticed there were NO Doods laying there at the…

I had a bit of an unsettling night last night, there were some foxes roaming around MY garden. I was in and out of the dog door quite a few times trying to chase them away, mum was getting quite upset with me as she was quite tired apparantely. She says unlike me she can't have a lie in in the mornings. Christopher came home this morning and took me to the park and we had a great game of football, he's getting better ....... Dad was home as well today mum said he's good "man flu", he wasn't…

From 5:30 tonight until afternoon tomorrow, there is a blizzard warning for my city. Everyone is closing businesses and being sent home from work early. All college classes are cancelled, etc. DH is being sent home by his employer at 3pm. Power outages are expected, and could last hours into the night. The power company issued a warning saying that everyone should have food prepared or can openers, as well as matches and a lot of blankets. I have gathered some flashlights, candles,…

I've had a very busy few days. Christopher has been home and we've been to all sorts of places, I think I'm a little bit tired. Well, maybe just 1/2 hour dog nap!
Dad was home today and he had to put a new pump in the pond in the garden, it was great fun helping him clear the pond weed out, the exercise does him good, so I make sure that he chases me round the garden trying to get the pond weed from me ...... For some reason he thinks I might eat it, no, I just like him to chase…

and look at the First Snow. I’m not too thrilled about this. It’s cold out there, and with the door open, it gets cold in here. Trav is acting like the snow is some dangerous white beast that appeared overnight and laid down all over his territory. He wants to look at it without having to walk on its back. He did venture out for a quick pee, but hurried back inside, whirling around at the door to make sure it wasn’t following him. It’s going to be a long day.

Hi Doods.... Shelby here! It has been a crazy couple of weeks at my house and thus - I haven't been able to blog in a LONG time. On Tuesday the 9th.... my mom got up super early - I think the clock said 4:45am - she got in the shower, gave me some loving - lots of loving - and told me that she was having surgery and that I would have to be gentle and careful around her for a while. I didn't quite know what she meant she had been saying this for days now, but I listened - gave her love back…

Dear DRC,
I'm really happy you rescued me. These people you gave me are not bad. But, if possible, I'd like a re-write of the contract. At first I thought it was great that I got one of those 'Inside Families' with a cozy house and all. But I'm suffocating in here! They have this awesome backyard...full of sticks, and twigs, and toys, and bones, and smelly things! And SQUIRRELS...oh heavens, the SQUIRRELS! But my people are such sticks in the mud!
They are all proper and are…

What kind of name is Cash for a dog? I can see it with one of Paris Hilton’s little frufru mini-dogs. But a Labradoodle named Cash? Well, considering that he was in prison in Tennessee, he was probably named after Johnny Cash. It just sounds a little ostentatious to me, and this is no ostentatious dog!
Cash came to us after a long weekend of…

It snowed overnight! I am getting so excited. Thanksgiving is next week, my tree is up, I have bought Darwin a bunch of great Christmas presents, and it snowed. Yay! It started snowing last night and we woke up to about a foot and a half, deeper in some places. It's the first big snow of the year so I knew Darwin would be excited to play in the snow for the first time... I am editing some videos to upload in a bit of him playing in it. But for now I'll just show you the…

Rooney and I have a 6:00 a.m. flight tomorrow, ouch. I will get up at 3:00 as will dh whose job it will be to wear him out so that he will want to sleep while cramed under the seat in front of me. Luckily for us we got an upgrade to first class so Mommy will have free Bloody Marys and Roony's dog carrier will have a bit more room. Sadly, first class only lasts till Atlanta where we have an hour and 40 minute lay over and then onto a small plane to South Bend. I plan to limit his water before…
