A Dood's reflections on the 1st year with her human!

Hi Doods.... Shelby here!   It's been a crazy few weeks at my house since my mom had back surgery.  She still has a way to go, but is getting better every day.  However, this recovery process has really gotten in the way of my blogging - so I had to take time tonight and blog.... because - I've got a lot to share!

Yesterday... my mom (human mom) told me it was our doodleversary.  What is a doodleversary you might be asking... I wondered the same thing.  It means it was the day she…

My Social Animal

I just had to tell you guys this, We had company for dinner Christmas Day, just some good friends came over, everbody made something, and we just did a comfort food dinner...Chicken meat loaf, Mac & Cheese, some veggies, etc.  We were all sitting at the dining room table, when Oliver walked over to the table between 2 friends, husband and wife and placed his head on the table.  He didn't go after any of the food, he was very quiet, just rested his chin on the table, looked from person to… Continue

Yikes - Coyotes!

Just when potty training was going so well... I'm scared to let our dogs out in the yard.  Yesterday (in broad daylight) my daughter came in the house screaming.  A coyote was running up and down our fence line.  Daisy (2 yr old doodle) was running up and down with it, but she was inside our fence.  I think she thought it was another dog.  After getting the kids in safely, we ran out to bring the dogs in.  Four more came out of the woods behind our house and just stood there.  The coyotes were… Continue

For those that sent a Christmas card to Ryan Trewin......

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!  I saw this post on Facebook this morning under the Canal Fulton group and his mom mentions how much he enjoyed all the Christmas Cards :-)  Here it is!!!

The Christmas Aftermath!

My daughter, her new husband, and their French Bulldog, Bonzai, came home to PA for the Christmas Holidays. Vern and Bonzai have become best friends. Fudge loves them both, but treats them like they are her annoying little brothers. My daughter says that Fudge is too smart for Vern and Bonzai and they just can't keep up with her smart games. She worded it a little differently. Vern and Bonzai prefer to wrestle and take turns pinning each other. Fudge jumps in from time to time to keep them…

Mom, Don't You Have More Christmas Shopping to Do?

I really wish Mom had more shopping to do because her being at home makes me tired.  First I had to get a hair cut, then I had to get a bath.  After all that, she thinks that she needs to comb me out!  This is exhausting.  I'd rather she just leave and let me take a nap.

Whatever, go ahead and brush me if you want, just don't make me stand up, I'm too…

Christmas Fun

Whew, what a busy and fun holiday! We were worried Darwin would be a little stressed or would feel left out, but he had a blast! We spent a lot of time with my husband's family, who completely spoil Darwin. He definitely enjoys the attention. He also got some presents from my younger siblings that he is enjoying thoroughly. I added a video of him opening and playing with one of his favorite gifts. It's a treat dispensing ball that is similar to what the buster cube does. He loves…

Lyric's final week!

Oh, boy--here we go! Lyric is getting all swollen now and has the look of impending motherhood. Christmas was fine until someone opened a present with some sort of stuffed animal in the box...then she was all over it and it had to be hidden some place. She is very tired today after all the activity and is sleeping most of the day...the week is starting off with a BLIZZARD so hopefully, she has a few more days to go before the puppies arrive. I doubt anything will happen before next weekend…

Guess who else has a Birthday today, too???

Today is our Sheba's 2nd Birthday.  Her Birthday wish was to play outside with Mom & Dad and a few buddies.

She was so excited that she got 10 new Frisbees for her birthday, so she had plenty to share with everyone.

Here's the Birthday Girl waiting for the first Frisbee toss of the day.

Her old buddy Shadow stopped by to…

It's Holly's Birthday Also!

Our Holly wishes Fudge a very happy birthday.  Holly is three years old today.  Holly got her name because she was born on Christmas Day...  We wanted to call her Noel but, you can't tell a dog, "No, Noel!".  For
about the first year, Holly thought that her name was "No  Holly!".

She is now the most wonderful and loving and well behaved dog we would ever want...

Fudge Turns Two on Christmas Day!

On Christmas Day our Fudge has her second birthday. I cannot believe it was almost two years ago that my daughter and I drove 600 miles to pick her up in Indiana. She has brought a lot of joy and love to our household and we cannot imagine our life without her! Happy Birthday, sweet Fudge!… Continue

POLITICALLY CORRECT SEASONAL GREETING TO ONE AND ALL

SEASONAL GREETING

I wanted to send some sort of  greeting to my friends and

colleagues, but it is difficult in today's world to know exactly what to

say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on

advice I wish to say the following :

Please accept with no obligation , implied or implicit , my best wishes

for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non

addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer…

You are not going to believe this!

Achilles is 1 year and 4 months, he has not had an accident in the house since he was 3 months old. He was very easy to train. We set up our artificial Christmas tree last week. He was not interested in it at all. My son and I are opening my gifts from my class this evening and Achilles lifts his leg and pees on the tree. WTD!!! I was in shock. Its a fake tree, it doesn't have any smell at all. Any thoughts or ideas on why this might have happened?

Clones

Have three Doodles that look alike/similar .  They are golden and labradoodles.  The similarity is uncanny.  Looking for pictures of similar dogs.  Have to have white chins, white markings on chest optional.  Mini is the size requirement.

Momma's Bragging

Rua's MOM here for a change.  Rua just went to bed...and as usual, she doesn't make any fuss.  And, as usual, when my alarm goes off tomorrow morning, and after I hit the snooze a few times, she'll get up when I open the crate.

I have 5 fabulous days off!  No work, no shopping to do (except for some wine).  Don't have to clean house, cook dinner or clean up after!  I am LOVING that!  We will drive north to Shoreview Minnesota on Christmas Eve early AM as my DH has to work…
