A few weeks ago, I posted a forum about Fozzy biting/grabbing the boys' arms and jumping on them, wanting to play. He was leaving scratches and bruises. I was looking for advice how to deal with Fozzy's behavior, also asking if anyone thought it would be worthwhile to look into an e-collar. Well, it got pretty heated.......I was even told I was committing child abuse by not keeping the dog away from the boys that he sleeps with every night. Well, needless to say, I was VERY upset with that…

Dear DK Family,
I must apologize to you for allowing this discussion to have even started. I must be suffering from New Foster Mommy Syndrome (I can't say New Mommy because I am not his Mommy and cannot start thinking that way). I do not usually air my feelings that way much less in such a public forum and I apologize for any discomfort I may caused anyone.
Please accept my apologies and have a fantastic day!
Adrianne

I just discovered a whole new room in the doodle kisses house! A blog post! I found it by following Adina's email about the So CA get together at Bev's. Sound like you had a great time. Now that I have found this room; to prevent a faux pas, please describe to me how a blog is different than a forum discussion?…

We had to euthanize Holly's best friend and our darling cat today. We had him for twelve years and he was wonderful. He came down with mass-cell cancer and his life was no longer happy because his hair was falling out in clumps and he couldn't hold down his food - even a prescription diet.
However we found a new friend, a rescue Maltese, whom we are fostering for the American Maltese Rescue. The poor girl was covered with fleas and ticks and had burrs all over. She was found…

Well it's day 5 with Finnegan at home with us. Yankee is definitely warming up to him. He still plays a little too rough and I sometimes have to separate them. Finn is a bundle of energy, not at all what Yankee was and is like. He never stops which means neither do I. He tears around the house and Yankee gets excited and goes after him.
I took him to a nearby park and he ran in puddles, chased a ball and dug in the sand. Last night I gave each of the dogs a rawhide chew. Finn wanted…

We are home, unfortunately...... Santa Barbara was fantasticly cool and refreshing. We walked to the park everyday, and had fun on the beach too. Buddy loves to run in the Ocean, and Kona had fun rolling on and dragging every dead bird and animal she could find on the beach (YUCK). I knew we were in trouble when the Turkey Vultures were swirling around, Kona just followed the birds for a nice smelly treat :)
We were visiting my Aunt and she has two Australian Sheppards and they all…

Clark and I were lucky enough to meet with Bev & Willy, Nancy & Ned (and hubby), Eileen Ross & Cody, Edith & Lucy, Richard Crowe & Holly, and Kate & Yarra (with guest Mel). Bev was kind enough to open up her beautiful home to us -- her yard is AMAZING! It's a human, kid, and doodle paradise! Though I'm not sure my photos quite captured its beauty and function.
I fell in love with Bev's blue merle goldendoodle Willy. He's just a cuddle bug and I was ready to…

Crouch down with his tail between his legs, backing away in fear when I took my travel bag out from under the bathroom sink and put it on the counter.
Play bow and bark at my son's green ceramic piggy bank.

My husband and I have now had Peri for 4 weeks. She is 13 weeks old and things are calming down - house training going very well! I was so worried that my 5 1/2 year old chihuahua would be super jealous and not like her. Don't get me wrong, I thought through the pros and cons of getting another dog for a long time (one con being little chihuahua attached to his mama). But I decided to go through with it since he LOVES other dogs, especially his…

I feel like I am going crazy waiting for our little doodle to come home. We talked to the breeder today and the litter's go-home date might be delayed by a week because the pups may not be quite ready to leave their mama yet. I know it's what's best for Lily but I am so darn excited to have her home!
I've been doing lots of shopping to prepare for her arrival. We picked up her food today (went with Orijen), have her grooming supplies ready, crate, leash, collar, a few toys, blankets,…

It was a long weekend so I went home to Portland to see my parents... of course Remington went along since I didn't want him home alone for up to 16 hours while Dan worked. We left around 7 on Thursday evening. Remington did wonderful on the car ride (he always does) and was so happy to see new faces when he arrived at my parents home. We got out of the car and started playing right away outside to relieve some of that built up energy!
The rest of the weekend he was unusually…

I am so proud of our little chocolicious girl. Today in puppy kindergarten we were continued ‘Leave It’. This time from the down position. Wendy our class trainer had us pushing the envelope. She told us to work this week until we could put a treat on both paws and have the pups ‘Leave It’ for the ‘Take It’ treat. Harlow was leaving the treats on her paws for a full 30 seconds before I gave her the ‘Take It’ treat.
What a joy to have such a willing eager doodle after so many years of…

Phil and I ran off for a “Parent’s Escape” weekend for the fourth of July holiday. DD stayed home to take care of all the four-footed children. This was the first time we left Harlow since she joined our family in May. DD is a bit of a scardie-cat and we wondered how she would do at home by herself. After we came home she told us that she slept on the family room couch with all the outdoor (and most of the indoor) lights turned on and the security system enabled. DD convinced Harlow to sleep on…

Happy Fourth of July. Ollie is 11 weeks old and we just got back from spending the holiday weekend at the lake. It was a 2 hour drive and he sat between 2 of my kids on the very back seat of the minivan and just slept both ways. I was a little worried what we would do when we got there since he hasn't had all his shots and we were limited in where we could take him but somehow it didnt end up being a problem. We took him out on the boat and stopped at a little island and took him and Charlotte…

I should also have added that over the past two days he is licking himself much more frequently than he had been. Could be related?

For the past few days Guinness has been very thirsty..and it's not even hot here. He drains his water dish and then looks for more. As a result, he's having to Pee often (at least every one to two hours) and has started having little accidents (very unusual). Any thoughts on why he would be this thirsty?

We are on day 4 of our summer vacation and wanted to stop by and say hello and share some photos.
We flew into Vegas late Wed night and Thursday morning began with a doodle romp with Eva (Malibu & Willow), Denice (Coco & Brianna), Sandi & Jeff (Mickey), and Renee and pink ribbon girl. Another previously non-DK doodle owner, Cheryl, also stopped by later with her two nearly identical chocolate cuties!
After the dog park Eva, Denice, and Clark…
